「明かされる秘密と紡がれる絆」 (Akasareru Himitsu to Tsumugareru Kizuna)
“A Secret Revealed, and a Bond Forged”
What’s better than a party of misfits you may ask? Why a party of misfits with no secrets between them. Yes, as promised earlier on Arc’s little secret didn’t stay secret for long, as with the likes of voluptuous elves and proper storylines now making an appearance it was time to establish the baseline for what’s to come. And what’s to come is going to be a blast.
Given how nonchalant Skeleton Knight is regarding Arc’s appearance and abilities to date, it should prove unsurprising that Arc’s grand reveal also became its own tongue in cheek moment. Or in other words, fantastical. Indeed, the literal white knight of plenty had a terrible curse put upon him, one requiring immense sacrifice to figure out and solve, and one Ariane can give a good bit of assistance towards ameliorating – and if you think I’m laughing my ass off writing this best think again because I swear I’m only – only – chuckling at the bony boy’s own sense of amused relief. Mostly. Indeed the complete willingness of Ariane to take Arc’s story at face value (albeit with a bit of fluffy Ponta support) simply further reinforces how Skeleton Knight is all about fun first and explanations second. Who really cares if it makes sense or has an answer? So long as the proceedings are entertaining it’s worth a watch, and I for one intend on seeing where things go.
As for what those proceedings are, we also got some information on that. Much as foreshadowed before, someone in the local kingdom is doing a naughty in kidnapping elves for nefarious (or plain lustful) reasons, and that someone likely has strong connections to the monarchy itself. It’s your usual paint by numbers fantasy intrigue, but it does give sufficient reason to keep Arc and Ariane together alongside bringing them into contact with greater powers whom Arc will, shall we say, have a field day with. After all, ridiculous powers need equally crazy arrangements to use right, and nothing says crazy like having our skellie boy do battle with princes for the sake of cute pointy ears and the right to Ponta fluff.
It’s the epitome of fantasy Skeleton Knight is gearing up towards, and I couldn’t be more excited to see just what’s in store.

The trope of leaving the leaders of evil alive while slaughtering the low level underlings without second thought. If anything the mercy should be reversed.
sadly this happens in RL aswell, somewhere along the ages we have been brainwashed to keep the higher ups alive at all cost, provide them with the means to live in a 5star-hotel nicknamed ‘prison’.
Well they do say that there are fates far worse than death.
those ‘fates’ still don’t befall any of the leaders, they fall upon the footsoldiers once again especially during the conflict.
after the conflict those ‘fates’ still never happen to the higher ups of the enemy.
bring back the days where even kings were beholden to their crimes.
Dude instead of complaining about a shit isekai try watching a real anime like Berserk. That is the kind if show I think you would love. Besides you cannot expect realism from trash shows about skull knights so what did you expect?
i expect a show that’s fine with bisecting people to not be treating actual evil masterminds with kiddy gloves.
The show stumbling to find its own rating is jarring man. Episode 1 started with a very graphic attempted rape and people being vaporized, bisected lengthwise and crosswise, yet this episode, the same scene that would have ended with the same violence ended up being a comedic ball busting and kicking scene. The marquis and his son would have been dead if this was episode 1. It’s like they opened so strongly to catch your attention then went from R-rated to PG-13.
The pacing was also slightly messed up, they even forgot to draw the two kidnapped elf ladies they saved when they made it to the open field. In the manga when Arc finally reveals his face those two are also present, albeit a bit further away. Though the reveals itself was done well, and the scene of Ariane finally caving to the thought of wanting to fluff Ponta was the highlight of the episode. I hope the show doesn’t lose its footing and makes its decision final on how it wants to tackle violence.
Here the Female Warrior said, if they can escape alone. So that save the animators some time
I do not mind. So his Secret is right now hidden with her only and i bet the Spirit Pet can surly keep it secret, too.
In a way I do agree the whiplash is jarring. The graphic nature of the violence on display doesn’t really jive with the lighthearted feel this series is going for, but personally I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt as it seems to be dialing down what we have received to date.
It’s one of those things we’re not going to get a proper handle on until it’s over though; this series has done a good job of straddling the fence so hindsight will prove to be the best judge of where things went wrong in the end.
Fantasy lovers: were here for epic heroics!
Ecchi fans: were here for scantily-clad elves!
Me: I’m here for Ponta and funny moments between Arc and Ariane
This show doesn’t take itself seriously so we should not either.
Anyone who’s taking this show seriously needs to reconsider things IMO, this is probably one of the best isekais to date for turning your mind off and going with the flow 😛
Are we really going to use this excuse on everything?
p.s.
Why am i filling in my email if i’m not going to get any mails regarding responses?
It’s used on everything? Could’ve fooled me.
More seriously this show is going to be lighthearted first and coherent, logical story second. It’s not an approach everyone will like.

This scene, is exactly how I played with my oldest niece the moment she turned 1 yrs of age.
