“Past Time”

Where is this invisible person cutting invisible onions around me?!

From Assassin to Teacher

Boy, was I not ready for what was about to happen this week. Even though we kind of already knew what was coming, it didn’t lessen the effect at all. Starting from the beginning wasn’t it pretty cute to see Koro-sensei and Aguri really start to hit it off? Stuck behind different “walls” be it physical or metaphorical, it felt like nothing was going to stop the feelings they had for each other. Toss in Koro-sensei’s ability to masterfully control his tentacles and it makes you wonder what could have happened if there wasn’t a time limit built into his new body.

But, because the world is far from a perfect place, we instead had to watch Koro-sensei fall back into his old ways with Aguri becoming the sacrifice that stopped him from completely losing himself to the darkness. Something that I think the anime adaptation could have handled a little bit better even though I think it did a pretty good job with the time it hand. Personally, I wish they had spent a little more time fleshing out the final conversation between Aguri and Koro-sensei. His jump from being a destructive monster to one that could have used his powers for good just felt a little too abrupt. That said, the insert song they played toward the end of the scene was just so damn perfect that I can almost forget about any complaints I had about the thing.

Nagisa x Kaede

I don’t think there’s much that needs to be said here except that I really hope this becomes a reality sometime before the series comes to a close. Also, I wish they added in Kaede’s line about her and her sister both falling for assassins – it was super cute!

Looking Ahead

With everything out on in the open, it looks like things are about to get pretty dark from here on out. And when I say dark, I mean dark. Honestly, how can you try to kill someone who you’ve spent nearly a year with, creating some of the best memories of your life? If I were to put myself in the shoes of someone in E class, I don’t know how I could even fathom the idea of trying to assassinate Koro-sensei. Even if there was a ticking time bomb inside of him that would obliterate the entire world.

Luckily, Nagisa seems to be on the same wavelength as me and I hope that we get some good news next week. See you then!

  1. Awesome episode; the bit where Koro-sensei killed the men by casually flinging grains of sand at their aorta gives some chilling insight into his true strength as an assassin, even before his transformation was complete. High level of badassery there. Kinda glad that Yanagisawa was maimed instead of killed, though; instant death is too good a fate for scum like him. His attitude towards Aguri and the staff was just plain sickening; everyone is dispensable except for me lol. Dying might actually be better than being treated like trash all your married life. Those kicks 🙁

Aguri’s death was definitely very sad; that Koro-sensei was so affected by her death says a lot about the year that he spent at the lab…guess he managed to develop the beginnings of human feeling.

FukuJun’s voice acting is superb; as expected, his maniacal, drunken-on-power laugh is brilliant.
