Arata Kangatari – 08
「 逐力」 (OROCHI)
“Orochi”
What a fascinating riddle of a series Arata Kangatari is turning out to be.

(Nakoso Nagarete Naho Kikoerkere)
“But Its Legacy Continues to Spread”
After probably the most satisfying Chihayafuru episode of the season last week, it’s right back into the torture chamber.
(Aki no Ta no)
“Of the Autumn Rice Field”
For a while there, I thought the purpose of this episode was to induce as many heart attacks as humanly possible among the audience.
(Yuku e Moshiranu Kohi no Michi kana)
“I Do Not Know Where This Love Will Take Me”
Well, that was a surprising turn of events…
(Wasureji no)
“My Fear is That You Will Forget”
An interesting side-effect of the change in focus is that it’s made Chihayafuru a much more difficult show to blog this season.
(Zokusyou)
“Zokusho”
Things continue to move along at a brisk but manageable pace with Arata Kangatari, which as yet stubbornly refuses to offer up any clues suggesting radical changes to the storyline to compensate for its brevity.
(Fukukara ni)
“Gust of Wind”
I’ll give this to Chihayfuru – more than any series, it’s managed to turn poetry into a blood sport.
“You Can (Not) Redo”
When I posted my thoughts about Eva Q after seeing it raw in a Japanese theater last December, I opened with "What the heck did I just see?" After seeing the movie subtitled, I have two further thoughts on that. First, I sure as hell don’t blame myself for asking that question. And second, seeing it subbed doesn’t come remotely close to answering the question for me.
