Haiyore! Nyaruko-san – 12 (END)

「夢見るままに待ちいたり」 (Yume Miru Mama ni Machiitari)
“He Waits..Dreaming”

For all you fans out there, I wanted to give a proper send off to one of the craziest, most ridiculous, and above all funniest comedies of the spring season. Haiyore! Nyaruko-san is chock full of vibrant characters, hilarious plotlines, tons of pop-culture references, and even a little love – just how I like it. As for the final episode? It doesn’t disappoint. A fitting end to a fantastic series. Now let’s crawl on up and put this one to bed.

Saki: Achiga-hen episode of Side-A – 11

「決意」 (Ketsui)
“Determination”

The weary fighter. The fearless sacrifice. The beaten dragon. The executioner king. With Teru on a rampage, and the others doing everything they can in to try to stop her, this match has become one of the most compelling ones I’ve seen in the Saki universe so far.

Natsuiro Kiseki – 11

「当たって砕けろ!東京シンデレラツアー」 (Atatte Kudakero! Toukyou Shinderera Tsua)
“Give it a Shot! Tokyo Cinderella Tour”

The audition. This episode represented the girls’ last, best chance to do something so they could all stay together forever. Or was it? Let me tell you, a lot happened this episode, and it was one of the best ones of the entire show.

Natsuiro Kiseki – 10

「たいふうゆうれい、今日のオモイデ」 (Taifu Yuurei, Kyou no Omoide)
“A Typhoon, Ghosts, and Today’s Memory”

The Big Rock sometimes seems to act like a classic “monkey’s paw,” where wishes are fulfilled in ways the wishers didn’t intend. Well, except for the fact that here they usually lead to a fun little adventure, instead of soul-shattering horrors the likes of which man was never meant to experience. So I guess it’s nothing like it at all.

My Way or the Anime – The Best Stories Are the Ones That Leave You Wondering

I wonder, I wonder, I wonder what could have been…

Imagination is a powerful thing. Any good horror writer knows that the scariest monsters are not the ones described on the page or shown on the screen, but the ones the audience conjures in their own minds. But what about when storytellers aim our imaginations not towards horrors unseen, but at wonderful events that are never to be?

Post may include spoilers for: Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Kanon (2006), Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Ano Natsu de Matteru, Angel Beats!, Aquarion EVOL, and some random Star Wars novels. Yeah, we’re going deep into the weeds this week. Trust me, it’s worth it. More after the jump.

Saki: Achiga-hen episode of Side-A – 08

「修行」 (Shugyou)
“Training”

After a week’s break, Saki Achiga is back with some crazy mahjong…almost. It looks like they’re saving that for next week, while this week we got crazy, uh, character introductions. And reintroductions. And re-reintroductions. There were a lot of characters in this episode, is what I’m trying to say.
