Boogiepop wa Warawanai – 18 (END)
“Overdrive: King of Distortion 5″
If you and I came up with exactly the same interpretation of all this I suspect Kadono Kouhei would think he’d failed at his job.
“Overdrive: King of Distortion 5″
If you and I came up with exactly the same interpretation of all this I suspect Kadono Kouhei would think he’d failed at his job.
“Overdrive: King of Distortion 4″
As usual, “Warawanai” tends to make me think in metaphor, and this episode was certainly no exception.
“Overdrive: King of Distortion 3″
It’s started to click into place for me that the way you have to approach this series is the same way you would a song.
“Overdrive: King of Distortion 2″
Boogiepop gives you answers, but at the cost of more questions.
“Overdrive: King of Distortion 1”
If there’s one thing I can say about about Boogiepop after 14 episodes it’s that it’s not especially interested in making things easier on the audience.
(Yoake no Bugiipoppu)
“Boogiepop at Dawn”
Watching this arc immediately after “VS Imaginator” was interesting, because they seem to represent the two tonal extremes of this series.
“VS Imaginator 5″
On their own either Boogiepop’s pure intellectual ambition or its historical importance would make it notable as a series. Together, they’re more than enough to stamp it as one of the more interesting and important anime of the season.
“VS Imaginator 4″
It’s probably fair to say at this point that I find the longer arcs of Boogiepop wa Warawanai more involving that the really abstract ones.
“VS Imaginator 4”
For an episode with no Boogiepop, Boogiepop sure gave us a lot of Boogiepop this week.
“VS Imaginator 3”
What strikes me after six episodes is that Boogiepop is narratively like a body of water covered by whirlpools which are constantly on the move.
