Saki: Achiga-hen episode of Side-A – 16 (END)
「軌跡」 (Kiseki)
“The Path”
A stirring end to the Saki: Achiga-hen episode of Side-A story. Finally, we get to see what Shizu can do on the big stage.
Final impressions included (again).

「激化」 (Gekika)
“Intensify”
For all this match was once lopsided thanks to Teru, it isn’t any longer.
「憧憬」 (Doukei)
“Aspiration”
It feels like that old Saki mahjong, except with more bondage, evil geniuses, and revenge. Swiftly approved!
「混戦」 (Konsen/i>)
“Meele”
Saki: Achiga-hen episode of side-A is back with the rest of the semi-finals!
「約束」 (Yakusoku)
“Promise”
The first players’ match of the Side-A semifinals is finally over! After a lot of hand-wringing and some stunts that would put the most hot-blooded of shounen protagonists to shame, the other players finally put a stop to the champion’s rampage. Bravo, girls. And there are four more to go! Uhm, eventually.
Three OVAs have been anounced for Saki Achiga, but I have no idea when they’re going to be released, so quasi-final impressions are included here.
「決意」 (Ketsui)
“Determination”
The weary fighter. The fearless sacrifice. The beaten dragon. The executioner king. With Teru on a rampage, and the others doing everything they can in to try to stop her, this match has become one of the most compelling ones I’ve seen in the Saki universe so far.
「連荘」 (Renchan)
“Dealer’s Streak”

A hurricane of despair
Teru always wins.
Horrible. I should stick to prose. And teruable puns.
「最強」 (Saikyou)
“Best”
This is it. This is why I’m watching this show. Finally, here’s the crazy, ridiculous, over-the-top-awesome Saki-style mahjong that we’ve all been waiting for. Hellz yes!
「修行」 (Shugyou)
“Training”
After a week’s break, Saki Achiga is back with some crazy mahjong…almost. It looks like they’re saving that for next week, while this week we got crazy, uh, character introductions. And reintroductions. And re-reintroductions. There were a lot of characters in this episode, is what I’m trying to say.
「信念」 (Shinnen)
“Conviction”
Arata and Shizu’s turns were fraught with difficulty, as Senriyama continued to steamroll and the other two teams reminded us of why they deserve to be there. Of the two, Arata’s was…
