Uchouten Kazoku 2 – 12 (END)
(Unmei no Akai Ito)
“Red String of Fate”
Every so often when a series ends what strikes me most is “that was a labor of love”.
(Unmei no Akai Ito)
“Red String of Fate”
Every so often when a series ends what strikes me most is “that was a labor of love”.
(Tengu no Chi Aho no Chi)
“Tengu’s Blood, Fool’s Blood”
That was certainly an ep that had a little of everything – in fact I’d say it had a lot of everything, like a nabe overstuffed with everything from the pantry and the fridge besides (as long as it’s not stuffed with tanuki, it’s fine by me).
(Nise Uemon no Kimaru hi)
“The Day the Trick Magister is Chosen”
This must be the weekend for densely-packed episodes.
(Sorezore no Nidaime)
“Each Second Generation”
I think it could pretty reasonably be argued that Uchouten Kazoku has been building up to this moment of crisis since its very beginnings.
(Ebisugawa Kaisei no Himitsu)
“Ebisugawa Kaisei’s Secret”
I can hardly even put into words how wonderful that episode was (but I guess I have to try).
(Kin’you Kurabu, utatabi)
“Friday Club, Again”
I needed a bit of time to process that episode…
(Arima Jigoku)
“Arima Hell”
Seems like the wrong tanuki got sent to Hell there…
(Daimonji nouryou-sen gassen)
“Daimonji Luxury Liner Battle Continued”
I think the Nise-Eizan Densha specialty of Yajirou is a fitting metaphor for Uchouten Kazoku, because more than almost any anime I can think of there’s a train-like sensibility to the narrative.
(Tanuki Shougi Taikai)
“Tanuki Shougi Tournament”
It’s the detours that make Uchouten Kazoku (and Kyoto) so magical.
(Youroppa no Kaori)
“The Scent of Europe”
Uchouten Kazoku remains a wondrous rumination on all that’s mystical and magical in the world, set in one of the world’s most mystical and magical places.
