Summary:
In the time prior to Suzaku’s planned execution, Jeremiah had been deputy consul and had been talking to Villetta about making her into a baroness so that her descendants can be true nobles, unlike the title of knight which only lasts one generation. For now, he has entrusted the parade route for Suzaku’s execution to her, and she’s made all the necessary preparations. Jeremiah doesn’t want to be humiliated any more because he’s now allowed two members of the royal family to be killed in front of him. Villetta doesn’t know what the first time he’s referring to is, so Jeremiah explains that he used to be a guard in the Aries palace as his first military duty eight years ago. The Aries palace was where Empress Marianne was, and on that one night, orders came from above to reduce the number of guards to a minimum. Because of that, the guards weren’t able to defend against the enemy intrusion, and this incident became Jeremiah’s first setback. He then took up a new post in Area 11 where Marianne’s orphans Lelouch and Nunnally had died, but now Clovis is dead too. When Jeremiah starts crying because of the memories of both Clovis and Marianne, Villetta asks him to wipe his tears because he’s not acting very lord-like. Realizing that she’s right, Jeremiah admits that his little sister Lilicia would laugh if she saw him like this, and as part of the distinguished Gottwald family, he vows to avenge Clovis and vindicate his honor. Unfortunately, Jeremiah’s dreams and aspirations go down in flames when, under the influence of Lelouch’s GEASS, he orders his forces to let the enemy escape.

I wonder what Jeremiah would have done back then if he knew Lelouch and Nunnally were still alive. He talked of them and Marianne in such a respectful way, like he truly regretted what happened even though he didn’t seem that concerned about the order from above to reduce the number of guards to a minimum. Of course, I say “back then” because robo-Jeremiah now or whatever he has become now probably couldn’t care less. I also found it interesting that Jeremiah had a little sister and that she was given a name – Lilicia. Perhaps we’ll get to see her sometime in the future.
Overall, this was another enjoyable picture drama that stayed mostly on the serious side. That is, until the very end where the final fade-to-orange shot caused me to start laughing. Seeing this also makes me wonder if we’ll get a Villetta and Ougi picture drama later on since she doesn’t play a really significant part in this one. The picture drama for the sixth DVD, however, has been announced to be a swimsuit episode.
When a character is put into a show for purely sex appeal purposes (Villetta) and then doesn’t deliver the goods, what the hell is the point?
Pretty Good
Haven’t seen Orenji-kun in a while. =D
That’s a cool background story for Jeremiah.
He’s a very zealous Brittanian but his loyalty has good intentions.
This one looks pretty good. I’m looking forward to the next one. 🙂
wow, I never thought orange-kun had a heart(no, seriously I didn’t). and the fade to orange part, Brilliant!!! I so cannot wait for the next picture drama. I wonder who they’ll do next?
Whats the purpose for making Picture Drama its pointless?
Damn, I never quite appreciated how lethal Villeta’s legs were until this shot.

Smokin’
dood, picture drama is awesome. Since not much staffs are needed in order to make one, we are able to get some side story out while waiting for the real thing.
Orange is awesome. Now Vieta will totaly dump Ougi when her memory is back.
Rage: You fail. Side story = win at character development. We get small tidbits between characters who we know interact but don’t get to see often. (Suzaku and Rivalz obviously have to talk, etc)
Surprisingly, after this, I almost feel sorry for Orange-kun now.
The writer have said that none of the characters are purely good, I guess that the opposite is also true that none of them are purely evil either. Jeremiah apparently also had unplumbed depths.
cyoti: Wait, so that means even Nunally isn’t purely good? (zomg zomg Knightmare of Nunnally? XD)
This makes me hate Lelouch even more (i don’t HATE him, though its painful seeing Jeremiah like this) — and how, he has a little sister! Thats shocking & interesting.
More Jeremiah please.
Spectrum: it doesn’t matter what the result of failure who making character development they made purpose only for extra story.
Meh…it’s too late (IMHO) to try and paint the guy in a good light. Dig deep enough to anyone and you’ll find whatever redeeming quality you want to find. Even Satan was once one of God’s greatest angels. To me, this destroys the facade that I thought what made Jeremiah a good character. He was supposed to be the prick, the unbending officer whose refusal to change would’ve lead him to his well deserved demised.
…And yes, her legs are awesome.
Think about it, its a waste spending DVD special to see extra story for just how many minutes will run?
Will you care about that to see character development, its that really important to you Spectrum?
Point is, you don’t have to watch it or even comment on it. Ta dah! No seriously, these are just extras for character interactions that you wouldn’t likely see, hence, it is just for some characterization. It does not contribute to the story, but it’s interesting considering that we only know the backgrounds of a few characters, all of whom are major characters only.
Notice they’re DVD specials, not mainstream episodes or anything like that. It does not interfere with the viewer’s enjoyment of the show, and it only costs the company producing them (don’t be so naive to believe that this is going to cost them a fortune either).
Point is, you dont have to explain the full details its very obvious indeed and I have the right to comment.
Does this mean orange might actually side with zero once he figures out he’s lelouch? all vs lelouch’s father in a hime/otome style ending…god spare us
Omni
I found your line a little confusing: “Marianne’s orphans Lelouch and Nunnally ”
They were orphans and not blood-related to the Emperor or what is it?
I have to admit, Viletta is anime’s biggest cocktease… EVER.
Jeremiah specifically said 「マリアンヌ様の遺児」 (Marianne-sama no iji – Marianne’s orphans).
I wonder… what if Orange-kun was sent in Area 11 to protect the two. Remember that at that time Japan wasn’t under Britannian rule…
I’ve got to wonder if this opens up a possibly that Orange-kun will change sides at all… It’d be really interesting if he found out Zero=Lulu…
Damn it I want the final 2 episodes already, it’s summer GIB THEM ALREADY!!!
Orange-kun!!! ^__^”
Rage: What else do you want them to use a DVD special on? More boring fanservice like the bathing special? More story of GEASS caliber is always good.
@Gil
“Marianne’s orphans”
I don’t think it’s anything special. He’s just refering to Marianne’s child, who are now orphans, seeing as how the Emperor abandom them.
So be it.
On a relevant note, it’s interesting that they would paint Jeremiah in a different, more subtle light. I don’t think anyone has really ever considered Ougi suitable for Viletta (since they’re just too different) but it set up for an interesting dilemma.
Yet… Jerry will always be comedy relief for me (who can possibly take his antics seriously?) even with his “transformation.”
at first it seems that Lelouch was justified to avenge her mother by waging war against Britannia. But now, we find out that a lot of people actually cared and respected Marrianna and wanted them to come back (ex. Cornillia and Jeremiah).
Any idea what the message says?

I know it says “Jeremiah” then i don’t know.
Spectrum: You have to buy a pirated DVD instead, if you feel boring go take a shower and start daydreaming, and no matter how good story you claimed is still uncompromising no connection between it.
First of all, you didn’t answer his question. They’re already going to make an additional DVD special, so if not this, then what?
Secondly, why does it have to be a pirated DVD?
I have no answer to that simple question and I have no interest DVD drama special.
My answer is to this whats worth to watching Picture Drama it ain’t Drama to me.
Rome x Juliet has much better drama.
my second answer is to save cost to your money.
My question to you why do we care for a cheap DVD against expensive original DVD special?
Of course it’s not drama, but that’s what the title of this little extra is. It doesn’t need drama, because that’s not its purpose. You should understand that not everything you see or read, with regards to Japanese animation, has a literal English translation.
You don’t have to buy the original DVD if you don’t want to, but you don’t have to buy a pirated copy either. If you want to seriously save money, you can go ahead and download a fansub and/or the RAW.
Also, you’re not paying solely for the DVD special; it’s a special included on the DVD release of the central episodes.
What I don’t understand is, we clearly see that you don’t care about/like these DVD specials, so what else is there for you to argue about?
My argue is about to tell that who creating that stupid idea its lack creativity.
Nice talking to you.
And where I can download if you know?
They haven’t come out yet.
Blah, blah, blah all long words were idiotic nonsense.
I want these too in BED haha xDDDDD Viletta x Orange-kun love!!
I Loved this Picture Drama… I really like Jeremiah and Viletta… but they dont have much screentime, so im really happy that they`re here! And bringing some interesting background information! I want to see Lilycia!! And I was kind of shock when Jeremiah said he was there when Lelouch`s Mom Died… Well!! I DO Like these pictures dramas… and if some people dont like it… why they just dont watch it? and let the people that prefer to enjoy it: ENJOY IT!
Uhm…btw, this is a passive comment!
