Summary:
Excited to be on his first mission, Krory is joined by Lavi and Bookman in investigating a case of disappearing villagers. Krory thinks that solving the case will make him a hero and expects great things. When the group arrives in town, they find the place relatively peaceful, so Krory goes asking around for clues. A pair of children tell him about a monster and lead him to what is clearly an Akuma, but it’s acting very friendly towards the villagers. The villagers have come to accept and trust this Akuma, so they don’t let the Exorcists hurt it. Because he remembers how Eliade was, Krory starts to think that it’s possible for this Akuma to have a good heart too. However, the killings in nearby towns continue, meaning that there has to be a hostile Akuma around, and Lavi continues to suspect the friendly Akuma. He sends their Finder Toma to watch over the Akuma as the rest of the Exorcists guard the village surroundings for the night. Toma sees the Akuma return to its cabin, but he also senses that something has changed in the atmosphere. Krory meanwhile finds another town under attack and chases an Akuma into the forest. He manages to hurt its arm and gets a glimpse of what appears to be the friendly Akuma, but it then gets away.
The next day, as the villagers are trying to move the stained glass of the church that’s a symbol of the village, Toma explains that the Akuma stayed in his cabin all night. Lavi and Bookman can’t understand why this village is the only one that hasn’t been attacked, but the answer becomes clearer when the villagers accidentally drop the stained glass window to reveal an Innocence that was hidden in it. Because of this, a ton of level 1 Akuma show up and the friendly Akuma suddenly turns hostile. After Krory stops the Akuma from hurting the children, Lavi explains that the Innocence was protecting the village so that the level 1 Akuma couldn’t get past a force field and the level 2 Akuma who did manage to enter got its personality changed to the exact opposite of what its supposed to be. The reason the attacks continued everywhere else is because the friendly Akuma exited the force field to return to its cabin, and the evil personality returned each time. Krory wanted to believe that there are good Akuma, but he’s now willing to defeat this one. Although the children of the village still want to protect it, Krory uses his teeth to destroy the Akuma, ending the threat. However, the villagers aren’t grateful and blame the Exorcists for what happened. After being kicked out, Krory looks depressed, but he ends up telling everyone that he’s glad he became an Exorcist since he saved all those lives.

Well, like many other D.Gray-man episodes not based on the manga, it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t that horrible either. My main problem was that this episode again didn’t really introduce anything new and even the character development for Krory felt a bit recycled. All in all, you could probably skip this episode and not lose anything from the main story. Next week, however, looks more interesting with Allen and Lenalee in the first half of a two-parter.
yay ~ !! :3
I wanna see them get back to the manga storyline D: Will we ever get to see the Crown Clown? Or even Allen vs. Tyki? -sobs-
At least the fillers aren’t Naruto fillers. I’ll probably only watch this for Lavi. YAY!
shit didn’t get ftp
The episode seems okay, but I’m more excited about next week because it is from the novel! 😀
@Magical Poof
Please use spoiler tags next time for the non-manga readers. ^^
WTF!NEVEr trusteD those eyeball FreakS!!!!!l
Eliade looks freaky when she smiles.
Man this episode was a fucking CRAP DUDE how can you say it was not that bad as a host from this blog….that only review about animes???
B I G – S H I T , as most of the animes from tuesday!! except from death note and claymore!! T_T OH CRAP
If you liked this CRAP go watch Tonari no totoro that it´s a better kids show from master miyazaki DUDE !!
” I KNOW THAT NARUTO FILLERS WERE BAD DUDE BUT DON´T GET ON DESPAIR MAN!! T_T “
… it was not that bad dude!
I am suspecting a D.grayman 2 =X i don’t think they can finish the manga
^
I was more overwhelmed by the fact that he managed to say alot, but were really all full of ‘nothing’ at the same time 🙂
Also, remember that the manga’s not finish yet as well.
Ah well, I’ll return later to throw his ‘crap’ back at him once I finish watching the episode…
Owww, no fair, seems only fillers and more fillers and no
Show Spoiler ▼
or nothing that follows that. Well seems is an all anime original. As for me i’ll just stop watching till something good comes out.
Maybe the show is not bad but D-Grayman is supposed to be darker not so barney style, by that i mean there is just too much filler with exorcists doing job and being nice, which brings me to where is kanda >
I doubt that d gray man the anime is gonna follow the manga storyline all the way to the end. Its only rumored to be 52 episodes, so unless they pick up the pace drasticlly like..in 2 episodes, they arent going to have enough time to fit in everything that needs to be brought in from the manga, which leads us to an anime original ending blah x_x
i think it will not end at 52 episodes and because of that they are making filler to have more chapters or i hope so
Next episode will the the 1st novel in Allen’s chapter~!
looks good
Die fillers, DIE!!!!
take this series out back and put two in it’s head pleaze!! if you wanna enjoy it READ THE MANGA ONLY!!
@Minami
I disagree, I like this episode alot. Btw, have you notice the ending of the OP? Why the hell are you still complaining about Tiki then?
Also, had you been watching this episode, you’ll know that the ending isn’t exactly all happy. They’ll forever be hated by the villiagers for doing their jobs.
@Inuhanyou
Actually, I figure that the ending of the Ark’s arc would be a good place to stop.
@brooklyn otaku & tensai_otaku
I want you to name me 2 things that is wrong with the anime, and if all you can say is ‘doesn’t follow the manga to the letter’, I’ll deem you as a narrow-minded troll like the others.
Btw, had you been watching the episode, instead of just blindly flame, you’ll realize that this episode is quite the development for Krory, something that the manga missed out.
Quite a development for Krory? As if, it’s just rehashing things they’ve already touched upon just a few episodes ago… hey maybe the townspeople will like me, oops I guess they don’t, QQ but I’m glad I became an exorcist!.
@Mantus
He has done NOTHING for the villiagers in his former home, and had cause them hardship, of course they won’t like him!
This is different because this time Krory WANTED to help them. And was FULLY expecting that the result would be to be treated like a hero. There is no ‘maybe’ in his thoughts.
In the end, he learn that this is quite the ‘gray’ world and that even if you know you’re doing the right thine, you sometimes won’t be thanked for it.
@chaos2frozen
okay okay, simmer down it is not something to get all mad about. I am just expressing my opinion as everyone else. And i don’t think i’ve been aggressive to anybody so calm down, it’s just a show. 😉
Lol, sorry, got carried away…
I didn’t see this ep yep. But… the next one seems to be based on the novel, Reverse 01
IMO, he didn’t cause them hardship, in fact he was helping them getting rid of the Akumas hiding in the village.
anyways i’m just gonna look at RC for screencaps until something interesting catches my eye.
@Chavenz
Ah~ While that was true, the villagers didn’t know anything about it and were living in fear everyday 🙂
I feel sorry for Krory, it’s always painful to do the right thing but would be hated for it.
well hi everybody i would like talk about it in msm wenceslao_999@hotmail.com but also for practice english jeje so i would be your friends. and talk about some series jeje
I actually found this episode kind of interesting. As a standalone episode, it wasn’t too bad – a bit of character developement. And the Akuma was sort of interestng this episode, too. Better design than the heap of junk from the Leaf Arc, anyway XP It’s kind of interesting that the Innocence could influence the Akuma’s behavior like that. ^_^ Anyways, that was just my two cents XP
