「小森さんは頼まれる?」 (Komori-san wa Tanomareru?)
“Komori-san Can Be Relied Upon?”

From the mind of Cool Kyoushinja comes another short show that focuses around the life of Komori and the situations she gets into because of her “reliable” personality. Being a mere two minutes long, there isn’t really enough time for you to think too hard about this show. With its roots deeply based in slice-of-life, I’m pretty sure most fans of the genre will find something they like about the show. Be it watching three close friends get a little closer or the various things that Komori discovers by helping literally everyone who asks, there’s more than enough material to cover all the things you’d want to see and then some.

As difficult as it may be to judge a show that’s only a few minutes, I’m liking what I see. Unlike a couple other shows that didn’t fair so well in their transition to an anime, I think this one managed to capture the essence of what made the source so fun to read. That and how can you say no to another Cool Kyoushinja work? So if you have a few minutes to spare and are looking for a nice and relaxing show that has some humor hidden inside, this one should be on your radar!

    1. Umm, she very specifically says she’s 15. That’s not elementary school, in fact it’s mid-late middle school. Which is more than late enough for a girl to have developed (in fact most would have since girls develop earlier).

Obviously the fact that she looks like that is because anime is contractually required to have one in every 3 female characters have breasts the size of their heads, but she’s not an elementary school kid and there are plenty of late-middle schoolers that look like that, though it tends to get them unwanted attention. (obviously rarer in Japan, not that that’s ever stopped them)

      1. Then she must have been held back for a number of years, because all the other students are very much elementary looking. Maybe that’s why the teachers always call on her since she should know the answers.

Middle school should definitely have more than just 1 girl that has gone through puberty especially if all the other kids are 15 years old.

I’m a fan of anime PLOTS as much as the next guy, but somehow this disparity is way too blatant to overlook how weird it is.

  1. Two minutes is way too short! Please make it five… I love the source material, but the anime didn’t completely show the potential of Cool Kyoushinja’s work in my opinion.

    1. No kidding, 2 minutes is absurdly short. Even factoring in commercial time, most of the 5 minute animes run at least 3 minutes 30 seconds. The first episode by itself wasn’t bad, but we could definitely use another 90 seconds or so of content.

  2. And here I am, still waiting for new Cool’s other work to get an adaptation or more translated material, Ojojojo. I did enjoyed this, and am looking forward to more! Komori-san, more please!

  3. I don’t even… I can understand why the short anime format can work better for some shows, etc., but uhh… guys… there’s a limit in terms of how “short” you can go. There’s not even two minutes of actual content when you factor in the “OP” insert!

So I don’t even know what to think other than it’s really short (OK, that and the two other obvious things :P). As to what little there was, I didn’t find it particularly funny – kind of just there. I guess I’ll give it another couple of episodes. I mean it’s only a couple of minutes – literally.
