「麗しの美形兄妹と出会ってしまった…」 (Uruwashi no Bikei Kyoudai to Deatte shimatta…)
“Met a Beautiful Brother and Sister…”
Well it’s finally time; three weeks in and Hamefura’s prologue has now reached its end. With Sophia’s and Nicol’s introduction the cast has been revealed, the situation set, and all that’s left is for the ever lovely (always lovely) Katarina to gear up for the fight of her life. And what a fight it’s going to be.
After all the fun which Keith, Alan, and Mary have proven to be you’d think Hamefura had reached the extent of its possible reverse harem shenanigans, but you’d be mistaken. Very much so. Sophia and Nicol are arguably a great match for the Bakarina maelstrom, giving not just another competitor for Keith to lose it over, but also providing Mary some needed competition because you damn well know the girls cannot be immune from the fun. Nicol in particular is going to prove a blast, because between his quiet demeanour and love of silence the misunderstandings will run gloriously amuck. He may obviously love that Bakarina charm, but I imagine it won’t take much for some characters to start assuming love for others which isn’t actually there. After all, when you’ve got a smile equally infecting both sexes and two romance nuts on the lose, it won’t take long before the fantasies begin in earnest.
Moving forward in time however, the true fun and games will be with how Katarina manages her relationships as puberty hits and pairings are increasingly asserted. Georgo for example is going to be a running danger with that determination to consummate his betrothal (and Keith’s equal determination to keep the Bakarina pure and wholesome), while Mary’s own infatuation is about ready to bloom into full-on obsession. Oh and did I mention the denseness of our MC? Because obviously that’s not going to lead to hilarity, most certainly not. With how Katarina has cultured her relationships to date it’s going to be interesting seeing how she deals with everyone going forward, because between all these crushes and one important girl still left to introduce, it’s only going to get crazier from here on out.
Best stick around boys and girls, because it’s off to the magic academy next time, and we all know what romance shenanigans that development entails.
The anime has not yet failed me.
3 episode test passed with honors…
I am eager to see more of Bakarina and friends
This show is like a bag of potato chips. It’s not anything super original or innovative, and every time you take one, you know exactly what you’re going to get, but darn it if I don’t just keep reaching into that bag and taking another bite every week and enjoying it each time.
It’s the kind of show, that I honestly feel like I should hate, but it keeps me watching. Kinda reminds me of Love Live in that respect.
Sometimes Junk food can work
Pretty much nailed it. Hamefura doesn’t really break any boundaries, but those boundaries it sticks with it utilizes very well. Of course a lot of it comes down to the series skewing towards comedy over serious story (much easier making the former work versus the latter), but that doesn’t take away from the fact it’s just good wholesome fun.
Awww man, why is this series so heartwarming? Hope it can stay like that even after the timeskip. I fear that adding serious drama could hurt it.
Next up the heroine?
No delay announcement so far? Good. 🙂
Apparently, they were able to finish it before emergency stroke.

Can’t believe that they already finished producing all episodes. Nicely done. 🙂
Welp, Catarina’s inadvertently seduced all the route leads and the other rivals to boot. Seems all that’s left is to inadvertently seduce the protagonist as well!

^Also the imagine spot with modern day Japan versions of Catarina and Sophia is adorable.
Oh don’t worry, we’re going to get to protagonist seducing soon enough!
Bakarina is so dense, she exhales Hawking Radiation.
This show is so wholesome that I’ve contacted stage 3 diabetes around episode 2… and I still want more. I knew this show was going to be an enjoyable watch, but not to such an extent! Possible SOL/Isekai of the season?
IMO more romcom than SOL/isekai, but it’s undeniably going to be a fun ride. Not as though it’ll have much competition either thanks to all the unfortunate delays.
