「嫌いじゃない嫌」 (Kiraijania iya)
“When You Actually Like It”
Well, Nasa and Tsukasa turned up the heat a little, thanks in no small part to the ever handy wingwoman, Kaname. Thank goodness Nasa’s got Kaname there to explain things like Tsukasa’s purring to him or giving him a little push onto the other side (of the women’s bath).
Nasa was incredibly adorable, trying so hard to learn to perfectly complement Tsukasa, even looking to shoujo manga for guidance. You don’t know unless you try and Nasa’s got nothing to lose. I mean, they’re already married, it’s not like he’s trying to get her to notice him and ask her out on a first date. Even if he flopped (which I highly doubt), it’s not going to ruin their marriage. In fact, I think she’d probably be pretty flattered (or relieved) if he dropped something on her like “You’re way prettier than those idols”. His morning wake up call– I’m pretty certain it landed the target spot on, but Tsukasa rushed into the other room so he didn’t get to see the after effect. That Tsukasa wants to hear an “I love you” and fishes around for it is a huge step.
This whole scenario reflects on the conundrum of how Tsukasa and Nasa basically skipped over a whole relationship stage right into the deep end. Nasa brings up the point that they jumped right into marriage and haven’t had any practice with “I love you” or anything else for that matter. I don’t have much experience in this sort of thing beyond what I’ve observed from others, but from what I have observed plus common sense, I can say that spending time dating and getting to know the other person allows you to get into the rhythm of life together, learning how and when to say “I love you”, how to read the other person’s reactions, and so on. It makes sense that Nasa and Tsukasa have this learning curve despite being married because they leaped over that dating stage. Even though they’re wearing the rings and have the license, emotionally, they’re really more like a cute young couple figuring out the whole dating thing more than an experienced couple who finally said “I do”.
Tsukasa has quite the naughty side to her, teasing Nasa with Toast and tickles and who can blame her with Nasa’s adorably “I’m in serious focus mode” face that’s just asking for teasing. The irony is that Nasa’s studying his brains out on how to romance the heck out of his wife, but Tsukasa swoops right in, no prep needed.
Man did they start to heat things up a little- but only a little in Tonikawa fashion. They live together for fuck’s sake, you’d think living up close and personal, they’d get over the blushes and embarrassment, but it wouldn’t be Tonikawa without that. They didn’t get too far in the bath and sauna, but they’re at least becoming more open about what they’d like to do and becoming more comfortable with owning up to that. It’s a step towards opening the door past those first three minutes (that whole scene ROFL- I’m not entirely sure if Tsukasa was aware of the innuendo and playing it up or if it was entirely innocent on her side). I’m pretty certain things would’ve gone farther if it hadn’t been for the hullabaloo over Ginga walking in on Kaname’s sister.
