Fortunately, KyoAni didn’t try to pull something by airing another episode of Endless Eight or anything like that. They actually moved forward with the Sighs of Suzumiya Haruhi, which means showing how the Mikuru movie came to be. It was a decent set-up episode with, not surprisingly, a lot of Haruhi bossing everyone around along with Kyon’s snide comments, plus it started with a brief sports festival bit. Full writeup coming in a bit…

nuuu..shit….i got the pal version of the dcr-TRV cam series…damn…cuz i live in europe..it’s quite old, and mini dv are outdate by memory card stuff, so i’m thinking to sell it on e-bay. If it was the same version maybe the price would grow a little. the box itself is quite different…in mine sony logo is left centered and there is a big red area with digital handicam written on it…at least it has the same blue/cyan gradation.

  2. Tanigawa Nagaru is in charge of this episode’s script. But shouldn’t he have instead better spend his time on that next Haruhi novel if he wants to show that he’s still alive? 😉

  3. BTW, if anyone’s crazy enough to want to go through that helluva Endless Summer loop but finds he doesn’t have time to spare, someone over at NicoNico is kind enough to compile them all into 8 separate split screens for you to watch, so you can watch them all in just 25 minutes, rather than up to 4 hours. That is, if you can maintain your sanity after hearing the dialogues mumbled over 8 screens.

Perhaps anticipating someone would do this, Kyo-Ani has (very likely purposely) arranged the ED for parts 1-7 (as we all know, part 8 has no ED) to begin in exactly the same timeframe, down to the second, creating an eerie surround sound effect.

  4. I’m not sure how to feel about this. :/

On one hand The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00 is one of my favorite episodes, so I’ve been eagerly anticipating The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya. But the thought that Sigh could end up taking up all the remaining new episode slots is keeping me from getting to excited, as the idea of not getting to see the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya becomes more and more of a reality… That or they’ll end up spreading Sigh and Disappearance too thin to effectively tell both stories.

I really, REALLY hope all 8 episodes of Endless Eight only counted as as 1 new episode.
