「裏用語に純反応, 一部の国ではそうらしいです, 雪と戯れ サンタの末裔」 (Ura Yogou ni Jun Hannou, Ichibu no Kuni dewa Sourashi desu, Yuki to Tawamure Santa no Matusei)
“A Pure Reaction to a Double Entendre, In Some Countries it Happens, Playing with the Snow and Santa’s Descendant”

I don’t know why, but I really enjoyed this week’s episode of SYD*. The thing is, I wish I could put my finger on what made it so enjoyable!

Double Entendres everywhere!

If there was a recurring theme throughout this episode, it was definitely everyone throwing out some pretty sly double entendres. While it’s not that much different from what we normally get, something about putting a little thought into understanding the jokes changed the pace up just enough to get things feeling fresh. My favorite ones probably being whenever Shino or Aria “shortened” phrases because ain’t nobody got time for that. The thing is, because there were barely any super perverted or downright dirty jokes, I actually found myself giggling at the stupidest things — like Tsuda pretending to be hung like a horse or Shino eating.. a long wiener c;

You can be my onee-chan~

A super close second to my all-time favorite character Suzu, anything and everything involving Uomi has been fantastic. Somehow combining just enough dirty with the clean, she’s this awkward character that knows exactly how to get anyone worked up. But it’s like GoHands can read my mind and in addition to being a great character, gave her this awesome Suzu fetish that they constantly exploit. Because even with her lame excuses, there’s no denying she understands how awesome Suzu is. Quiet as a kid? Sounds like a good excuse to squweeze the loli!

Chocolate.. Hot Pot?

This is just a random thought, but I to have pondered what it would be like to have a mystery surprise hot pot. With no rules and the power anonymity, I’ve always wanted to subject someone to a hot pot full of absolutely disgusting things that a sane person would never mix together. But as horrible as that sounds, I can’t be the only one who’s ever thought of doing it — right? RIGHT?

Sexy Santa and The Future!

All in all, a pretty great episode. While I still can’t figure out exactly what it was that made this week’s episode so great, I know for a fact that the ending to the season should be great if SYD* can ride on this week’s momentum. With the formula finally reaching perfection, I really hope things don’t revert back to how it was during the first few episodes. See you next week!

LOL Moments / Random Thoughts

  • That moment when Aria said she took something off because it was hot and Shino notices she’s wearing a one piece.
  • That moment Suzu throws logic out the window after Aria slipped in the snow and described how cold the inside of her butt felt.
  • That moment Suzu wakes up to what she believes is a horny Aria trying to slip under the covers with her.
  • Every single time Uomi get’s too close to Suzu.

  1. My favorite moments were when the tsukkomi realize the boke might pose a serious threat to their chastity.

Both examples: “How about taking Tsuda’s dick together?” and “Suzu-chan… let me sleep with you!” had me in stitches. XD

  2. There is a sort of undefinable-but-definitely-charm to this show. I mean, I usually can’t stand unending barrages of vulgar humor, but somehow this series has made me a loyal follower of the manga, anime, and OVAs.

There’s just something about the characters and the way they interact that I love, and the voice actor choices just accentuate them perfectly and make the whole thing better. So much so that this season and the OVA has made me a huge Uomi fan thanks to the charm of Chiwa Saito’s performance.

    1. Your right the voice actors do a great job. The way the lines are delivered work way better than the yelling that the tsukkomi does in D-Frag for example.

You also never know what is going to show up (like the bondage snowman).

Having a section with Uomi is icing on the cake with a cherry on top.. no… wait…

      1. I think the success of the tsukkomis of this series, especially Tsuda, is because of the range. There’s so many different tones Shintaro Asanuma lends to his performance, and waiting to see which he’ll use for a particular situation is one of the best parts about Tsuda’s tsukkomis. That flat laugh followed by a sudden “Jesus!”, for example, was so unexpected it startled a pleasantly surprised laugh out of me.

  3. The thing that would have made this episode better than it is right now, would have been another Tsuad and Dried Squid: Max Power segment…The previous one was a cliffhanger if I remember.

  4. I had the same feeling about this episode, because it was one of my favourites so far. Something about all the jokes just clicked right, and the vast majority of them were hits. Highlights being Tsuda freaking out because of Shino’s mails, Aria being even more of an exhibitionist than usual and everything that Uoumi and Suzu did. As someone else mentioned, the voice actors really sell the show as well, as they manage to nail their lines perfectly (with Chiwa Saitou receiving special mention for that deadpan voice of hers).

Only one more episode to go…honestly, of all the shows I watch this season, this is probably the one I will miss the most. I just got really attached to these characters and I don’t want to stop watching their antics. At least there’s still another OVA coming up.
