It sure didn’t take long for Reborn to come around, did it? While his sudden change of heart did make sense, it was a little jarring in terms of how fast and easily it occurred I expected Reborn to put up a little more resistance, but I guess using the Vongola Primo is just that powerful an argument. Part of the issue is that Reborn’s thoughts just aren’t given as much depth and scope as Tsuna’s, where each thought process is so clearly explained that it doesn’t surprise anybody when the future Decimo reaches a conclusion or performs a decisive action. It’s not so much a problem for clear-cut characters like Gokudera or even Hibari, but for enigmatic characters like Reborn or Yamamoto, it can get a little confusing trying to work out their logic. I suppose it just comes with the territory of being secondary characters though, so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much.

Another thing that struck me this chapter is the actual power level of the Vindice – they are former Arcobaleno sure, but surely, surely the combined efforts of all the cast will be enough to beat Jager? I find it kind of hard to believe Reborn still sees it difficult, since characters like Xanxus and Byakuran are considered “overpowered” in their own right. It’s one of those things that’s going to need to be seen in order to be believed, but I’m hoping Jager and Bermuda aren’t so overpowered that it’s going to need one deus ex machina after another to defeat them.

  1. Pretty much the entire cast of this manga has gotten together. To be honest, out of all the other series going on right now, it feels like this one is the one that’s bringing me to the edge of my seat the most.

  2. Just my opinion but I must respectfully disagree.

I felt that it was perfectly natural for Reborn to believe in Tsuna. Not only was Primo brought up for the argument but Tsuna actually stood up to Reborn/was prepared to fight him. Something I dun think he has ever done before.

I mean, how can you doubt someone with such determination, who characteristically lacked said determination? Especially when they’re your own student?

I’d like to think of Reborn being more logical than emotional but like you said, “for enigmatic characters like Reborn… it can get a little confusing trying to work out their logic.”

  3. A good indicator of Jager’s power level is Daemon Spade. When Daemon broke out of prison, Jager said that he would be able to take him down on his own. So at the minimum, Jager is a level above Daemon, probably even beyond the combined flames of sky and gravity that Tsuna wielded.

But all joking aside I loved this chapter… and it was probably my fav of this weeks jump offerings (though I haven’t read one piece yet :P)
Ps:Anyone got the feeling that even with all this it still wont be enough D:

  5. Imo, Byakuran was over hyped. The entire arc he was made out to be this unkillable badass and yet was beaten in about two and a half episodes. Heck, the fight with Xanxus made Byakuran’s look like a joke.

this is what’s wrong with the past few reborn arcs recently. after the future arc, they kept bringing us villains that we are supposed to believe to be powerful just because the main cast says so.

not to mention all the trinisette balance shit has been thrown out of the window since the inheritance ceremony arc.
