「恋愛の才能」 (Renai no Sainou)
“Love Making Ability”

I can’t believe something that I briefly touched on during the first episode would actually make a comeback and become (hopefully) an integral part of the story! And if you have no idea what I’m talking about, it would be how the story is slyly reintegrating Tamao into the general story!

There are a lot of different adjectives I could use to describe this show but emotional falls pretty low on that list. I mean, when the gags are flying everywhere and there are more cameos then you can shake a stick at there’s literally almost no time left to deepen the relationships that our characters share with one another. And this is where Tamao surprisingly comes into play as someone who could bring a whole new element into this show. For example, let’s take a look at how the episode started off and incorporated a recurring theme of unrequited love. We see Tamao experimenting with makeup so it should become obvious that she wants to show off her looks to someone special but every time she tries to admire her work she believes that she will never have the chance to showcase them. Fast forward toward the end of the episode and we see why she’s so hard on herself — how difficult is it to hide your own feelings when you’re trying to help your friend with theirs?

Simply put, Tamao is bringing the emotional feelings to a show that doesn’t necessarily need it but sure does benefit from it. Sure you could be content with how things currently are but I think that any show that attemps to venture out of the genre they’ve originally started in can really become something special. And like I’ve said, this show isn’t one that people would come to for their emotional fix — at least not yet! And on a final note, man Mahiro picked up a lot of forks! Makes you wonder how much of his stash he blew through during season one..

  1. I was pretty happy that this episode had an emphasis on Tamao, she seemed like an interesting character that never got any screen time. (minus the arc where her body gets taken over by the yellow alien) Feels in Nyaruko are rare, but if season one was any indication, they should be able to do a good job with it this time around as well! (talking about the episode where Nyaruko shows Mahiro she really does love him, and not just obsessed with sleeping with him) Stoked for the next episode- the Nyaruko body pillow returns and we get to meet the new character! Yay!

      1. I wouldn’t be too surprised if that’s who she is! Guess we’ll just have to wait and see… Having more busty redheads in anime is definitely a good thing too, and maybe Mahiro will add her to his every growing harem, it’s lacking someone busty anyways. =D

      1. With cameo/references across multiple anime, light novels, games, tv series and cultures, (not to mention the timespan involved, seeing how Bewitched is quite an old American series)
it’d be impossible for a single person to be able to identify them all.
Easiest way would be fan colloborations.
Or if the Nyaruko anime team one day decides to publish a booklet about the references made.

    1. Yes, it is Tamao-san not Jyashin-san.

Some small background information: RAMM is short for REDALiCE (founder of ALiCE’S EMOTION and HARDCORE TANO*C) & Masayoshi Minoshima (Owner and founder of Alstroemeria Records, probably best known for his arrangement of Bad Apple!!)

  2. After being at the receiving end of 2 Rider Kicks a few episodes back, it’s nice to see that Tsuruko is alright. It’s also nice to see Satomi Arai in quite a number of roles this season. Aside from Kuroko and Shantak-kun, she’s also that yellow alien helping Tamao. And speaking of Tamao, yes she was so lovely in this episode. Show Spoiler ▼

    1. Forks: The modern ninja’s low-cost, legal alternative to kunai. Like Kunai, forks are used to harass the enemy, or to take down small fry; the big sword doesn’t see use unless someone’s actually powerful enough to make you get serious…XP
