「スシポリス参上」 (Sushiporisu Sanjyou!)
“Calling The Sushi Police!”

Sushi Police is a pretty wild show. In both the literal and the figurative sense.

General Impressions

Androids? Wasabi Guns? Sushi? It’s tough to really point out a specific point about this one. Yes, it’s mostly a cartoon comedy, but it’s the kind of comedy that you’d see back during the 90s from shows like Cow and Chicken or Ed, Edd, and Eddy. A comedy that jumps around from hitting you with tons of jokes to the slightly questionable shot of certain body parts. Something that really stuck out to me though was the distinct and appealing art and animation style that Sushi Police uses. For a short format show, you typically don’t expect it to look all that nice since the studio is probably working off of pennies. But in Sushi Police’s case, this limitation is turned into a positive by going for a smooth cartoon look that hyper stylizes everything else. An additional bonus, with so much going on, it makes the show feel a lot longer than just three and a half minutes.

Essentially, if you’re looking to add another show to your list this season, you can’t go wrong with Sushi Police. I would place it more in the cartoon category than anime, but I think it works specifically because it’s more like a cartoon! In any case, make sure not to use Japanese Mayonnaise with your soy sauce or you might end up with the Sushi Police blowing up your house or restaurant!

TL;DR: More cartoon than anime but that works in its favor. Reminds me of a 90s cartoon — I like it!

    1. I barely understand Japanese, watched it as it is, was pretty entertained with what understood, and sad with all that I couldn’t follow.

PS: I don’t know who subbed it, but now it is up with subs on some shady streaming sites.
