「カエデの時間」 (Kaede no Jikan)
“Kaede’s Time”
Just like I guessed last week, things got pretty serious pretty quickly.
Calm Before The Storm
Starting the episode out with some charm and a little bit of wit, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Kaede get some well deserved screen time. Not only because she’s typically working behind the scenes, but I nearly died laughing when I realized she wouldn’t be able to go through with the plan. Because as impressive as constructing a giant edible pudding is, having the heart to blow your masterpiece up is something I don’t think even Nagisa has. Luckily (or unluckily?), Koro-sensei was able to smell the bomb at the bottom and instead of getting showered with anti-sensei pellets and pudding bits, everyone got to have a taste of their creation. Overall, not too bad of an outcome if I do say so myself! It makes you wonder though, just how crazy of an assassination plan could Kaede construct if she put her whole being into it? Because if this smile is any indication, it looks like she’s ready for another try.
Pantsu-Thief Koro-sensei?
As I opened the post with, it looks like things are taking a turn for the worst as the enemy (I’m using that term lightly) is busting out all the stops only two episodes in. From framing Koro-sensei into a crime that he could conceivably commit and ruining his image with the whole class in order to bait him into a trap, it looks like they’re going for broke by even throwing an upgraded Itona into the mix. Something I didn’t necessarily see coming, but I guess isn’t too crazy when you think about the intense training the class was going through right before that cliffhanger. I mean, compared to what they were doing one semester ago, they were free running through a forest with a highly trained soldier trying to bring them down! In any case, I can’t wait to see what happens.
Looking Ahead
After a slow start last week, things have been kicked into full gear with Koro-sensei already duking it out with his half brother Itona. While it remains to be seen what other traps are hidden within the anti-sensei barrier, it feels like just about that time when Koro-sensei reveals another one of his hidden talent. Anyways, I’ll catch you guys next week when we hopefully get to see Itona get the crap kicked out of him and maybe integrated into the class. See you!
End Card
as a reader of manga, this smile is very meaningful…

by hints of the episode 1, it looks like this season 2 minor Show Spoiler ▼
Given that 22 episodes covered like 72 chapters, and this season we get 25, I think we’ll get even further than that.
foreshadowing hype!!! you guys have no idea what’s in store for Kaede’s character.
and judging by the way this episode skipped some of the original material, we might actually see the anime’s ending sync up with the final chapter of the manga (which has already reached the day Koro-sensei is supposed to destroy the world).
I’m pretty sure that the second season will end in Schism arc.
The tag on the mountain was one of my favorite arc and they just made a mini, 5 minutes version of it? (the original is 3-4 chapter long and could easily made into 1 full episode)
Why did they have to skipped so many good thing? why lerche why?
I agree with you. It lost all the humour that was in the manga.
On the contrary, I think it retained the humor (corrupt Korocop), but lost the aspect of the kids learning from the game (their tactic at the end was good).
Also, the tag game was only 2 chapters. Was surprised to see it wasn’t more when I went back to reread it since I also thought it was longer.
Still a bummer it lost some content in the adapting work, it’s one of my favorite of the more slice of life like arcs. Another 5 minutes would probably have been enough to get include the important parts thatwere cut
Killing the Sensei was tough, but things like bribing and framing the octopus seems real easy.
Yes for more action next episode. My motivation to watch this show.

Koro-sensei = Pac-man
Gee, I wonder if any ghosts are available; next thing you know, Cherry will be used as bait.
Although that ending was intense, my fave portion of this episode still gotta be the cops and robber. I remember reading the manga and laughing really hard when i got to that part and the anime didn’t dissapoint (although they did cut it short a bit, but if that means they’re pushing full power into the later arcs in the manga, then i’m perfectly fine with it, really hyped!) Still can’t get over bribing Sensei to escape and then going “How are they all escaping?!”. Although Itona’s arc wasn’t my fave, still looking forward to that and definitely hyped for the next arcs coming afterwards!
The guy that runs Ansatsu Database on Tumblr has a interesting theory why Lerche cut several characters arc.

So glad they made up for the severe lack of Ritsu in episode one.
Pfft, forever flat.

And after she had her big moment the first half, she’s been brought down.
Better flat than concave I say.
