“Let’s Plan a Light Novel with Your Little Sister”

At least they aren’t related by blood.

General Impressions

While some viewers may have thought this episode was a tad on the boring side, I’ll be the first to tell you that I thought it was actually really good. Especially when you consider what this week’s episode tried to tackle in terms of the overarching narrative.

So, just to throw it out there, I don’t really a preference on what happens between Sagiri and Masamune. With the former unable to really express her feelings and the latter having some solid feelings about how he should be as an “older brother”, it feels like the stage is set for the two to just become really close family members. However, the story never fails to remind us that the possibility of something else happening could occur and that’s specifically where I found myself having some trouble this week until I just accepted it.

At this point, the whole idea of wincest is almost like a running joke and I’m starting to grow weary of the times where Sagiri starts to interpret things the wrong way, especially when it’s clear to the audience that Masamune isn’t some sort of sex-crazed monster. That said, this week’s episode did a great job at bridging that awkward gap by embracing the whole idea with our two favorite siblings collaborating together without anyone getting hit with a controller. It’s tough to pinpoint the exact moment where it occurred, but what I appreciated the most was probably seeing Sagiri start to open up a bit and not retort with her trademark whining. (I really want to like Sagiri. But unlike another younger sister who had an unfixable garbage personality, it pains me to see Sagiri act the way she does when I think it’s clear that she literally has no reason to behave like that).

Luckily, this week’s episode “serious” side was balanced out with a nice refreshing dose of Yamada Elf. Coming over to Masamune’s place this week since she was on the run from her editors, it was nice to her outside of her home. Toss in the fact she was also able to interact with Sagiri and even got to play games with her and the whole thing felt like a checkpoint in terms of reminding us just how much our characters have grown since we first met them.

Overall, not too bad of an episode. It may not have been for everyone, but I think it worked well for the people who it resonated with. In any case, I’ll catch you guys next week where Megumin hopefully isn’t dead after speaking such blasphemy at a bookstore that highlights light novels of all places!

    1. Also the Bathtub scene with Megumin, when she stand up from the water.. You see water drops falling between her legs.. So, i bet your “brain imagine” is running wild, where these Drops come from and also where this much water can gather around…

See, Eromanga sensei use all kind of way to bring us Ecchi no Premium Fan service

      Very good play there…

  1. Very good although I would have though Elf with her divine nudity would be the no panties sort of girl. And I expect more nude Elf to avoid violating the viewers with a character trait that was not actually real for the sake of one time fan service. They missed one chance, Elf should have gotten naked to play the game, I’ll let them slide on her not getting naked when under deadline pressure as it would be harder to convey the fact that she was under pressure even though if someone likes nudity they would take up that state under pressure.

  2. This episode would be boring if you ignored all the talk about panties and Megumin. Damn I feel like a pedophile now lol

Interesting episode though, pulls on development between the siblings which no doubt will be challenged in the future. Hopefully more females can get in between them so we can witness the harem we’ve always desired gaha

  3. Pretty decent episode, except for the kind of creepy way the camera lingered on Sagiri in just about every scene she was in.

It felt like the book cover illustration re-creations were a little shoddy, though. For an anime whose titular character is supposed to be an illustrator, it’d be nice if they forked over an extra $50 for illustrations that didn’t look like mangled photocopies of bootleg DVD covers. (Those dead, misshapen eyes! o_O)

Otherwise, it’s still doing its thing. Elf saves the day, again. Looking forward to next week. Should be fun.
