「迷宮攻略」 (Meikyuu Kouryaku)
“Conquering the Labyrinth”

Another day in the life of Great Teacher Rimuru.

Yahallo! Stilts here, making a rare reappearance to cover for Takaii while he’s off galavanting around the world. I have the distinct pleasure to cover a couple of episodes of Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken, so I hope you’ll stick with me until takkun is back. Yoroshiku~

This episode continues with the Rimuru-sensei arc, which was not my favorite idea going in. It hasn’t been bad—in fact, it’s frequently been good! (Albeit a smidge rushed.) But I think that’s fine, because the more time we spend with these kids, the more time we’re away from the town of monsters building a harmonious society, and that’s the kumbaya shit I come to TenSura for. Which is why I don’t mind the rush. Get in, save the kids, get out. Let’s do this!

Which was the order of the day. Rimuru’s crew entered the lamest labyrinth ever, though that’s only because Rimuru is typically broken. The battle against the golem did give me a chuckle, there was no chance Rimuru would lose (it was too slow to pose a threat), after which we get the introduction of TenSura’s most endearingly obnoxious character, Ramiris of the Labyrinth (Haruno Anzu), AKA Demon Lord Ramiris, AKA former Queen of Spirits, AKA convenient blabbermouth about all things Leon. Isn’t she adorable?

Yeah, I don’t think so either. Mostly she’s mildly annoying, but the person she’s mostly annoying is Rimuru, who handles it with aplomb, so I can jive with it. Plus she gets better later in the episode. To me, honestly, the most interesting part about this episode is what will happen next episode, and the delicious anticipation right now. What kind of spirits will respond to their summons? Will any respond at all? And if they don’t, what kind of spirits with Rimuru craft for the kids? The kids are all right, and fulfilling Shizu’s dying wish is all well and good, but I wanna see those character upgrades, man! These current models are lame, show me the new hotness!

Which, fortunately, I’ll be here to talk about next episode. Join me next week for episode twenty-three, and then takkun will take back over after that. Until then!

  1. I can’t tell if my knowledge of English language is not good enough or someone didn’t proof read this section “there was no doubt Rimuru was lose” i’m doubting myself more.

    Poring
  2. Finally, a very good episode, it suddenly became as slow as in the first 8 episodes and even had an anime-original scene (the whole scene of Rimuru introducing himself as a Slime to the children).

  3. rimuru- In games and anime, shady character’s eyes always glow red
Me- Apologies to all those cool characters like Lelouch, Goblins Slayer, and Ainz Ooal Gown! (on the side note, I do wonder why Goblin Slayer’s eyes glow read.)

I was hoping that our slime would, like he did with Kaijin’s sword, EAT the golem rather than destroy it. He could have mass-produced an army.

I am envious. I am sure many people would want to eat all the sweets they want without getting fat. If such people exist, I would like to know the science behind it. Now to look for more anime with fairies.

Anyway, since I am assuming that this slime anime is close to an end. I sort of hope a big war occurs in the last episode. Like maybe the Church has labeled our slime and all of his comrades, including those kids and the dwarf king, as heretics and comes to destroy them only for the religious idiots to be all killed off in the end.

    1. Easy…

Red is also the color of our Blood

Also Red Eyes = Raging blood Eyes..

“We steam from Rage and our Eyes turn red!”…. in truth the little venes inside the Eyes, blow out and the White color becomes Red!.. Like we see some Dark Eyes from time to time..

So Red Eyes are just an other visual sign for “emotion” to show us Rage, Anger or determination

    1. Her behavior is explain from herself. She gets reborn in an new young body with memories and such intact from her previous life.. So that is the summary of this cycle

Yeah, I think fairies should be heroine material; the only one I know so far is in Myriad Colors Phantom World. Sadly, because the male MC is a normal human size, faeries don’t get the heroine spot. Otherwise, if the MC is killed, the fairy could go super saiyan

      1. The only Fairy i know that got Human shape size is Tinkerbell in Peter Pan. Most Games that used fairies was this little.. example Everquest Fairies.. so small but strong as Ant-man or even stronger because Magic

So her Size is Okay and i think if the anime want to show us her in Human shape size, then it is more an Illusion like Rimuru as an shape shifter

        in Short:

        i am okay with that

      2. What about the faeries in Mahoutsukai no Yome? My recollection is vague (or worse) but for some reason I thought they were more substantial.

My concern about Ramiris thus far is that she’s actually more annoying to the viewers than the other characters — at least, to this viewer. But we’ll see how it goes.

  4. the ex-Fairy Queen is really obnoxious, but she has good heart from seeing her reaction to children’s fate…. also she seems kind of magical mad scientist, she might be useful in the future as ally…
