「200万年の結晶」 (Nihyakuman Nen no Kkeshou)
“Culmination of 2 Million Years of Progress”

Damn! It’s actually one more episode before we reach the point I really want to see animated.

General Impressions

Man, what a shock that was toward the end of the episode when Senku gravely revealed that there was a chance Ruri could actually have TB and if that were the case, she’d be royally screwed. Actually, before we dive into that lets actually rewind a bit.

Going back to the tournament, who would have thought that Senku of all people would be the one to win it all? As someone who obviously understood how Chrome and Ruri felt, it must have royally sucked to make it all the way to the end. Luckily, in the most Senku way possible, he managed to get the precious alcohol he needed plus spent less than a few minutes before quickly creating the first divorced village priestess.

You know, there’s just something about Senku and the amount he cares about others that never fails to hit me right in the feels. Besides the way he handled his sudden marriage with Ruri, how can you not love a guy who manages to sneak in some presents to the people who deserve it the most? Looking back at all the times Gen has managed to help the group avoid trouble, you’d think he should feel entitled enough to demand the cola that Senku promised him. However, Gen’s smart enough to know what the priorities need to be and hasn’t really done anything that you would consider selfish. All of which is probably why it felt so good to see him sulk back to the workshop only to see a precious bottle full of carbonated goodness just waiting for him.

Man, what a fun episode. With everything going according to plan, who would have thought the next big surprise would be that the village would share the same name as Senku? With a ton of different theories in mind, I can’t wait to see just how the show plays this one off. If I remember correctly, no one in the village actually carries a family name so it’d makes you wonder just who or how the name Ishigami was picked for the village…

  1. Yeah, I loved the Gen moment with the cola. It really showed who Gen is as a character. He comes off as selfish and self serving, but he is a bro at heart. Even when he figured out Senku was making carbonated water, he didn’t push the issue or demand what was promised since he knew there were more important things going on. Then seeing the pure happiness when he got his reward was amazing.

Also, Senku announcing his divorce and then immediately running off dragging Kaseki with Kohaku stealing all the booze was hilarious.

    1. Yeah, I agree. There was so much that worked in this episode
and really played the details well with the bottle of cola
(even the tactile experience from the shape of the bottle).

      Senku === boss!

    1. Ruri is a High Priestess and seems like she know some thinks
But i can understand why you choose Kohaku, this typ of Girl is now more wanted. Ruri is for older Generations that want to Protect. Kohaku kicks your balls if you do something wrong

  2. Brilliant episode, but how come anyone say Senku doesn’t have any combat abilities when he can dodge attacks and crack nuts fine, lol. If anything, he is quite athletic, I mean, in episode 2 he ran away from lions whilst carrying a statue.

  3. -I just think Kinro is the funniest, he brings in the comedy and disgusts the group.
-I’m glad for Ruri, there’s no rush to the romance here since science comes first.
-One bottle of coke with ramen and glasses to be reordered in the future.

  4. Random, I totally agree with your comment that Dr. Stone is about achievement. However, would you agree that its only about achievement in a scientific sense, not necessarily humanitarian nor social?
