Dreamhost has been incredibly stable for us, we’ve been with them nearly a year and a half now. The problems last night were caused by a series of 4 seperate network failures happening in quick succession. No host is perfect, and if you have 4 sperate things go wrong, especially with network, you’re probably going to have downtime.
No host has 100% uptime, Dreamhost has been pretty much 99.9% for us (over the course of a year). You don’t get better than that.

glad I didn’t go with them after all when I changed hosts recently ^^;

I’m glad you’re back up; I was having the same problems as a fellow dreamhoster.

heard dreamhost put in concurrent connection limits recently though
