Summary:
On Christina Island, news of Karl’s death has reached Diva and her Chevaliers. When James promises to protect Diva and kneels down to kiss her hand, he sees that she’s transformed back to her original body. Saya, meanwhile, is sitting at a dock staring at the ocean and thinking about what Solomon had said about her having companions. However, Saya still feels that she is by herself and tells Hagi that this is their fight. She doesn’t want anyone else to be hurt – not Kai, not David, not even Hagi. Kai arrives by car and gives her a basket from Javier. He’s actually here to tell her that Joel has made preparations for them to go to Christina Island by ship. Inside the basket, Saya finds a note from Javier asking her to come by and play again. Saya wonders to herself why everyone is so concerned about her.
That night, the three remaining Shifu are waiting for Saya to arrive on the boat. Karman says that if Saya doesn’t come, they can go themselves to face the Chevalier and the Corpse Corps. He and Lulu think Corpse Corps lack the battle experience and individuality that the Shifu possess, but Moses points out that the enemy’s numbers could turn it into a relentless fight. Karman doesn’t care and grows impatient with waiting for the humans who are currently in a conference. In one of the ship’s cabins, Lewis is explaining the layout of Christina Island. The island was abandoned after the fishing there died out. Now, the government uses the island to store nuclear waste underground. Okamura explains that the promotional video (music) company got permission from the government to use that island and that shooting begins tomorrow. David says that even if it’s a trap, they have to bet on the small possibility.
Just as everyone is staring at the clock, Lulu bursts into the room to announce that Saya is here. All of them go outside to meet her as she boards the ship. Seeing how Saya can’t look at them directly, Mao tells her to shape up because everyone was waiting for her. Saya spots David and asks him to take her to Diva, but she also says that afterwards, she’ll handle things herself. David tells her that they are here to support her. That doesn’t change even if Red Shield is no more – they will still be her shield. Okamura and Mao decide to take their leave now so that they can return to Gray’s house. Saya wants them to apologize for her to Gray and everyone, but Mao tells Saya to say it herself when she comes back. Okamura agrees and even asks for an interview once she comes back.
The ship arrives near the island and the group makes an amphibious landing through inflatable rafts. Surveying the landscape, Kai notices that there is light coming from building at the top of the hill. The three Shifu decide that it’s easier for them if they move by themselves. They take off and come to a part of the island heavily guarded by the Corpse Corps. Just as Moses says that it’s their duty to bury the Corpse Corps, the enemy strikes. With some teamwork, the Shifu are able to handle the first attacks from the five Corpse Corps. As they are fighting, the main group is approaching the house at the top of the hill. Hagi suddenly senses something and shields Saya with his cello from a projectile. Kai recognizes that the person standing in front of them now – James – is the same Chevalier from Covent Garden.
David immediately tries to hit James with a bullet, but James instantly changes into a Chiropteran form. James tells Saya that she’ll die here today. She is the only one in the world whose blood can kill Diva, and so by defeating her, the safety of Diva and her Chevalier is guaranteed. Saya rushes in and tries to hit James, but the Chevalier’s armor is still too tough. When she tries to strike low at his feet, James quickly blocks with his arm. He grabs hold onto Saya’s sword until Hagi smashes into him with the cello case. James knows that Saya is working with the Shifu, but he calls them all amateurs who don’t know how to fight. Having seen enough, Kai asks for some cover fire from Lewis and David because he’s moving up to Saya’s position. James continues talking, saying that Saya’s grave will be the nuclear waste pit.
Kai shoots James, diverting his attention and allowing Hagi to grab Saya out from in front of James. Lewis then pelts the enemy Chevalier with a barrage of machine gun fire. Kai tells Saya that, like James says, it’s impossible for them to defeat James by themselves. But Kai has a plan and asks Saya to lend him Hagi. For now, Saya will have to keep James busy with just David and Lewis’ help. Meanwhile, the Shifu are holding up against the Corpse Corps’ superior numbers, but Lulu and Karman lose sight of Moses. Moses is actually fighting three Corpse Corp by himself, and is getting slowly defeated. After hitting Moses twice, one of the Corpse Corp comes in for a killing blow, but a cello case flies out and flattens his skull against the nearby wall. Kai is also here, and has a request for Moses and the Shifu. Moses says that they should talk afterwards, referring to the fact that the Corpse Corp have gotten back up on their feet.
Solomon returns to base where Amshel is waiting. Amshel tells Solomon about how Saya and company have gone to Christina Island. Solomon remarks that that’s where Diva has gone to have her promotional video shoot, but then he notices that there’s someone standing in the corner – none other than Diva herself. Back on the island, Saya is actually holding her own fairly well against James with a bit of help from Lewis and David; neither side is able to hurt the other. James, however, corners her so that her back is against the deep pit. It is at this point that Kai shows up and once again distracts James. The three Shifu then appear above the Chevalier and dig their weapons into his body. Hagi comes in and clings to James’ left arm, ripping off the armor plating even though James manages to impale Hagi. The lack of plating leaves James open to Saya’s bloodied sword.
James loses an arm to the crystallization effects, but he grabs Saya and runs toward the nuclear waste pit. She stabs him in the right leg, causing him to lose that leg, but by now James has jumped into the pit. Kai reaches out and grabs Saya’s outstretched arm, but he gets pulled in too. A flash of light can be seen going into the pit. James recognizes that the Chiropteran who flew in is actually Solomon. After saying goodbye to him, Solomon slices off James’ remaining arm – the one holding Saya. He carries Saya and Kai on his back and flies back up, having saved them. With the battle over, Solomon reveals that by the time Saya and her friends came, Diva had already left the island. Solomon realized that it was his brother’s plan for him to reveal the information to Saya. The name of that brother is Amshel Goldsmith, a statement that elicits gasps from Lewis and David.
Back at their castle, Diva is asking Amshel if James will be ok. Rather than answering her, he tells her about how Nathan will come and take her to New York. As for Amshel himself, he’ll come later. Solomon is actually telling Saya and friends the same information about Diva going to New York. He then gets ready to leave, but Saya stops him and asks him why he’s helping them even though he’s the enemy. When Solomon suggests that it’s because he loves her, Hagi steps in between the two of them. Seeing Hagi’s glare, Solomon proclaims that he is one of Saya’s allies and does not want to compete with Hagi. He then disappears. Kai collapses soon after from pain. He tries to downplay the injury, saying that it’s nothing compared to Saya’s wound – the wound that doesn’t heal. Kai says that he will become the adhesive plaster that closes up her wounds. Saya can only look back at him without saying anything.
Preview:
Two dead Chevaliers in two episodes, both deaths involving Solomon helping out during a key moment. I can understand why Solomon is helping them, but what exactly is Amshel trying to accomplish with all this? As shown by the trap that he set up, he knows that Solomon is leaking information to the enemy, but he doesn’t seem to mind that Solomon is helping kill off the other Chevalier. Perhaps he is confident that one of his traps will eventually kill Saya or maybe he thinks his grand scheme is that foolproof.
We do finally get to see Solomon’s full Chiropteran form. I don’t think they should have given him that extra hair because it makes him look really ugly (as opposed to James who looked really cool). That leaves just Nathan and Amshel. I guess we’ll see Nathan’s form in the New York arc and Amshel probably not until the end. Speaking of forms, Diva appears to be able to change form readily, like she does at the beginning of this episode. What good that ability does her remains to be seen.
There’s no new OP/ED this time. Guess we’ll have to wait till next week. From the preview, it looks like a KaiXSaya episode. All his talk about going back to Okinawa in the preview makes me afraid that Kai is going to die soon.
which other chevalier died??? James Ironside???
No! I liked solomon, I can’t bear to see his ugly side
episode summaries up to 46 are posted on wikipedia, the rest of the blood+ series looks soooo interesting, I hope we get all our questions about chiroptera and past lives of people answered before the series ends
mmmm blood…
Saya changes dress next episode?
Is that solomon helping Saya!!??? killing James and giving a ride to Saya and Kai??

yea…blood+ is a killer.
Anyone know what
a summer 2006 anime Le Chevalier D’Eon is about?
Damn…….now Diva’s down to two Chevaliers.James and Carl are dead, and Solomon went to the other side.Looks like Queen B isn’t having a very good week is she? Oh well serves her right.
Well, if you consider it Solomon on Sayas side now, then its now even teams, 3v3, as opposed to 5v1. Assuming you dont include all the other characters, and just chevaliers and saya / diva.
Solomon really really went to Saya’s side? Like he’s going to stay with Saya now? Or is he still returning to Diva’s side to be a spy?
IMO Solomon’s chiropteran form looks more like some mutant pony with wings than anything else >_>;;
Eldarwen: That is an upcoming anime also by Production IG but other than that it has nothing to do with Blood+ at all. Well OK, it has cool swords too. It’s set in France during the period of the Revolution and features a male… knight? Baron? or something like that, who could actually disguise himself as a girl, and there’s generally some vague stuff and it’ll be an action show or something – ok, now it sounds so silly, but that’s prolly cos I don’t really know
um….I went to wikipedia and read the summaries….ah episode 41’s summary makes me think of episode 32…ya know what we speculated from before, but I still could be wrong
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BLOOD%2B#Music
-_- There has been too much KXS this last weeks… (And it seems to be more next epi…) T_T Where´s the pretty HXS?!
solomon has protagonism much more now , and Hagi practically does not exist or he is always fighting to help Saya like a doll.
There are many questions too
– The promise between Saya and Hagi
– The relation between hagi and diva
– supposedly the chevaliers were going to capture hagi (episode 20)
– Who is Anastasia? ( episode 17)
The series advances and I’m not have answers.
Sorry for my english, but I speak Spanish.
Thanks for summary
now omni ….with me GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL…..BRAZILLLLLL!!!
We rock dude sing with me people…… we are the champions!!!!
Eldarwen, did you read my Summer 2006 Shows Preview? I had a lot of information links in there about Le Chevalier D’Eon, which has nothing to do with Blood+ except for the word Chevalier in the name.
:/ i’m still waiting for episode 33 to be subbed, x_x *waits patiently*
About Diva wanting to secure Hagi
Show Spoiler ▼
Is it just me or is the abundance of Saya/Kai annoying? He’s her brother and he loves her. Or rather, just appears to be in love with her plain and simple. We get it already.
They’ve spent all this time on Saya/Kai angst and the relationship between Saya and Hagi remains a mystery in many ways. What exactly is he supposed to be besides the one who follows her as her chevalier and made a promise that we still don’t fully understand? Yes he was/is her intended husband since before she turned him. As her chevalier he’s also a blood relative. But none of the interaction between them presents their bond as such. Instead we’re repeatedly slapped over the head with Kai/Saya. It’s so dull. And in Saya’s case, though she appears to have suitors lined up for her she doesn’t yet seem in touch with her sexuality as a woman. Not that this is a bad thing, but then why bother with all of these potential love interest? The manga just does a better job handling Saya and Hagi’s complicated and somewhat tense relationship.
owh! Come on… ^_^ it’s just that they’re revealing it later… we’ll see their progress perhaps after the whole thing settled?? nah~ Some stories just like to focus on Future Life/Relationships.. i wonder
Finally somebody who understands my point!!! That relation is annoying! What´s up with HagiXSaya!!! >.
So James bites the dust too. ugh I wanna see this episode worse then carls death. Soloman shows hes with Sayia too, Which is smart by him if he is actually doing that because Saya is the only one that can kill him but if hes on Saya’s side then hes safe right? Nahh My guess is Anschel will kill Soloman with Saya’s own sword *which has her blood on it* which he will quickly grab from her or something lol. Personally I think Anschel isnt even on Divia’s side and is working for higher ups. Just a idea but I mean come on theres got to be more then just Sayia and Divia full blood vamp wise. Maybe when he was changed by Divia and she went to sleep they appoched him and basicly said where calling the shots from the shadows and you listen kinda thing lol. I didnt want to beleve Divia rapped Riku but if she is pregnut like one of the summery of the episodes just said, then ughhh Divia is really a sicko lol. Riku was freaking naked when Sayia saw him cystiaized and dead….Bad Divia! BAD he was 11 or something ewww! Now blood+ will never come to the states lol.. Also maybe she goes in that form kid wise because it like makes her unable to be killed by Sayia’s blood. Probley not, she most likely just changes into it to be a werido most likely lol…
Anime chaos 70 another blood+ one was posted on June 25th on youtube if you wanna check it out. Covers Episodes 35,36,and 37 🙂

If Kai dies I quit Blood+, really, he’s one of my most favourite characters in this series.
For me It’d be also boring, Kai was and is an important person in the story.
hey i’m not asking for anyone to tell me where to get the latest blood+ translated eps. but are they beyond 32 now? if they are i’ll search the net so can u tell me?
France raped Brazil Wooohoooo! Sometimes, I’m proud to be french!
Oh and I agree with Omni, could we have some insigths on Solomon and Anshem’s motivations?
It’s getting boring and I don’t like watching pawns…
Oh and Solomon, I hate you, traitor.
Soloman isnt a traitor, he just looked at his choices…. Saya: a depressed mood changing girl who goes from nice to good, and lately kool looking and cold. But overal a good person/vamp girl OR
Divia: a craxy phycopath vamp who wants to rule the world but has no idea what shes doing and she thinks singing does that some how, AND she rapes children AND then she likes shapshifting into the kid she killed… ALSO she never once said, ” Hey thanks sis for letting me out of that cell” Sorry I went coo coo banana’s and killed everyone in the house.
Though I cant blame Divia for killing them when she got out, her life up to that point must have really sucked. But after that she should have said ok! got that out of my system! time to enjoy life. Well she kinda does, but in a demented and sick way…
Yeah…. I would have to go with Saya too. Saya also lives by the sword while Diva lives with umm..crazynessnes nes ….nes or something hehehee.
Dont get me wrong, Divia is a awasome villian, just the Riku thing creeped me out. Now shes pregnut? So what the next gen cant be killed by her or Saya? Is that there plan? Who knows, I love this anime because it makes you think lol.
I think Diva’s ability to change is important, if she quickly shift changed into Kai, Riku, Geroge and everyone that Saya cares about, well. Saya might get angry and kill Diva or she might break down.
Thanks Omni for blogging Le Chevalier D-Eon, I love anime with a historical conspiracy plot.
hoho. they’re starting to kill off Diva’s side. and wiki says that diva will still be pregnant. ew
Anschel’s been around for a long time, how come Saya can’t or haven’t yet recalled anything about Anschel?
OK here’s a mental image you don’t want –
Diva, in Riku form (thus creepy) holding her pregnant belly.
MOr maybe it’s just me . . .
I was watching ep 38, maybe Anschel does have a plan, maybe that Solomon that was with Saya was actually Nathan who was acting as Solomon since he’s such a good actor and trying to trick Saya? The real Solomon was kept at the castle by Anschel and Diva when he discovered that Diva wasn’t at Christina Island, because I didn’t think Anschel could just let Solomon go when he found out that Solomon has betrayed Diva. Also, after “Solomon” said that he’s in love with Saya, his eyes and expression look like Nathan, and also I think Hagi’s glare at “Solomon” was not just he being jealous or overly protective.
Anschel is setting a trap.
Or maybe I am over thinking… =)
I think anschel is going to be the main villain of the show. He’s working on a plan to be the ruler of the world or sumthing….
Diva is just a psychopath, doesn’t look like she has any grand plans except whims…
So, Anschel might be planning to get rid of everybody that is a threat to his position, that’s why he needs to get rid of all the other chevaliers… Once, everybody else is gone, and he has a bunch of zombie armies, he can pretty much do whatever he wants. Diva would probably just be his trophy..
btw, what’s up with these animes pairing up brothers and sisters… japanese culture is creepy…
the movie was better….
Diva’s motivation for suddenly wanting to escape imprisonment is not an issue the anime deals with at all. If you think about it, because of her power waltzing out of the tower she dwelled in for years upon years should have been an easy task way before Saya unlocked the door. I’m going to sound like a broken record here but
Show Spoiler ▼
Wow, that was long.
Whoa Christy,
If that’s how it really happened then……….I’M PISSED OFF! I mean they try so hard to make Diva out to be the main villian in the anime, but she seems more misguided than anything else.It looks as if Anshel made her this way and fed her warped information about Saya and the others. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that that justifies what she did to Riku I ‘m just as sad as anyone else that he’s gone, but it may not be completely her fault that she thinks the way that she thinks I’m sure she’s had a lot of bad influence.Sadly though, despite all this I think Diva is too far gone for ANY kind reconcilliation with Saya.
What does this mean??? I got this from the Blood+ official site

Hi Christy, may i ask where did you get the spoiler? Where did you get to read the Blood+ manga? I think it explains so much more than the anime
yeah where u get the manga, its so much more interesting really .. at least we will know wahts really going on, too many loop holes in the anime
Volumes 1-2 of the Blood+ manga have been released so you can try a japanese bookstore or you can find raw chapter scans online via winny or another p2p. I think some chapters have been translated so manganews may have it listed as well.
No background information on James at all, not even a flashback? What a downer. I liked his character (better than that effeminate snob Nathan, lol) and it would have been nice to see how he ended up as one of Diva’s chevaliers to begin with, and his ties to the US military and all. Plus, his chiropteran form is just cool! He’s built like an tank and being all shiny black and armor-plated.
I’m kinda wary where this whole Kai/Saya thing is leading to. As someone mentioned, yes, he cares about her, that much is obvious, and yes, they’re foster siblings. Why go much further than that? It’s just weird, otherwise, lol. Mao doesn’t seem like she’s worried though, but then, she seems to spend most of her time with Okamura.
I do wonder if that really was Solomon who showed up to save the day toward the end. Twice to the rescue in two episodes? Seems way too convenient. I’m starting to believe it may actually have been Nathan in disguise as someone mentioned, taking James out of the picture to fulfill some twisted scheme of Anshel’s.
oh , I think it was Solomon because we saw his chiropteran form. Even though it was first time, James called him Solomon, right?
diva raped riku and got pregnant from it…she said that she gave him her blood in return for something precious he gave her..put the pieces together…..its obvious. kai n saya are both looking really good now! yay!! as for couples i dont care whether its kaixsaya or hajixsaya….cant wait for more!!!
WOW!! I REALLY CAN’T STAND how Kai is so obsessed with Saya. Leave her alone so Haji can give Saya what she needs. EVERYTHING. Who would choose Kai over Haji. Are you Kidding me!?
Ok, Kai does look better than he used to. He has a girlfriend already. JEEZ…
I can’t wait for the next episodes! Was it just me, or has the artwork been a little.. lacking these past 2 episodes. It looked a little lazy to me. 🙁
note kai does not want saya that way as you guys think he just wants to keep her alive cuss she is his only remaining family his sister. he is probably screwing mao on the side and liking it. also I truly do not want saya to turn kai into a chevalier if something happens cause saya will condemn kai to be divas sex toy just like riku
Deep down inside, I think that’s what’s up with Kai. But just rewatching the past 10 episodes..
Makes me wonder about the boy. I really like Mao. She’s so damn cute. I just want her to be happy too. 😛
Before I really wanted Kai to die than Riku but, NOW I don’t want him to die -___-
I don’t think Kai will die. In fact, I believe (or want to believe) in the end he will be the one to kill Diva as a testament to one of the messages of this series – you must rely on others in times of need. Beyond that, Kai has become quite talented and this show is in need of a regular human beast, too. One with no powers.
At first I didn’t like Solomon. I have thought of him as a heartless demon (I didn’t even liked the way he looked) but now when he helps Saya I started like him and I must admit he’s very handsome. You all can say he looks ugly in his other form but I think he’s cute and I like him even more ^^. Well, he has become my favorite character from Blood+ and I really love ALL his forms. (ya think I’m crazy? For me it doesn’t matter how he looks like. He’s still cool^^).
uuu kai looks hott in that spy looking outfit ^.^ really enjoy this ep but still hate saya’s cold attitude towards everyone. also mao’s obsession with kai!!! she doesnt get it, the guy doenst love her, he’s falling for saya, oops looks like solomon and haji have competition here. lol
