GIANT KILLING – 16

As expected of Tatsumi, he wasn’t quick to hop on the Natsuki bandwagon and bench Sera following the return of ETU’s top scorer.

So as expected, the return of ETU’s Natsuki Youtarou (Kusunoki Taiten) puts pressure on Sera to step up his game if he wants to keep his starting forward position. What I wasn’t expecting however is for Youtarou to be ETU’s top scorer, meaning Sera’s got his work cut out for him.

After four consecutive episodes of the ETU versus Nagoya Gran Palace match, it looks like things are finally taking a break from the nonstop action to set up the next arc of the story.

GOAAALLL!!! God damn, I felt the manly tears coming out even though the game was far from being over. After all the struggles and criticism ETU’s endured, it’s about time they proved to everyone that Tatsumi wasn’t all talk when he said he’d make this league interesting again. Take that you non-believers!

The match against Nagoya Gran Pulse sure is going the distance in terms of being animated, with this week only covering the middle portion of it.

After five consecutive losses in the span of only a few episodes, ETU was not only overdue for a win, but a huge giant killing as well. With their opponent being Fuwa’s Nagoya Gran Palace however, they need to first overcome the three Brazilian superstar imports — Zelbert, Carlos, and Pepe.

Well it looks like my expectations of ETU turning things around in their match against FC Sapporo were a bit premature. However, the five game losing slump they’re currently in will make their first win so much sweeter — especially if it’s against Fuwa’s undefeated Nagoya Gran Palace.

With Kuroda choosing not to take part in Tatsumi’s soccer tennis tournaments and walking out during practice, he doesn’t even dress for the preliminary game against Shimizu Impulse.

It was only a matter of time before ETU started losing some games, but I wasn’t expecting them to go on a string of losses.
