Mayoi Neko Overrun! – 13 (Recap)
「迷い猫、まとまった」 (Mayoi Neko, Matomatta)
“Stray Cat, Compiled”
Even with no new scenes added, this was one of the best and most entertaining recap episodes I’ve ever watched.

“Stray Cat, Compiled”
Even with no new scenes added, this was one of the best and most entertaining recap episodes I’ve ever watched.
「迷い猫、決めた」 (Mayoi Neko, Kimeta)
“Stray Cat, Decided”
While I’ve enjoyed the randomness of this series, super robots and all, I admit I wasn’t expecting much more than an open-ended finale to this twelve episode adaptation. To my pleasant surprise, it focused on Nozomi again and had Fumino and Chise admitting they have feelings for Takumi, making it much better than that.
「迷い猫、割れた」 (Mayoi Neko, Wareta)
“Stray Cat, Exposed”
Put the director of SEKIREI and Asura Cryin’ with the key animator from various of episodes of those two series, Toradora, STRIKE WITCHES, and CODE GEASS and we have Fumino unleashing the power of Lelouch Lamperouge on the masses!
「迷い猫、待ってった」 (Mayoi Neko, Mattetta)
“Stray Cat, Waited”
I haven’t placed much bearing on the production staff changes every episode in this series, but when hints of Satou Takuya‘s work in Seitokai no Ichizon came through, I instinctively took notice. With all the timely comedic transitions, back and forth bickering, and appearance of a new girl, this was easily the funniest episode thus far.
「迷い猫、泳いだ」 (Mayoi Neko, Oyoida)
“Stray Cat, Swam”
It’s not often I can say I enjoy eating my own words, but after I poked fun at how this series was getting pretty random last episode, AIC comes back with an episode about orphans and the love square that develops.
「迷い猫、抜いた」 (Mayoi Neko, Nuita)
“Stray Cat, Pulled Out”
Leave it up to Chise to use her Umenomori wealth to rip off the game of Jenga, add in a bunch of semi-erotic stipulations on the blocks (e.g. cosplay), and rename it Power Blocks for her personal enjoyment. Remember when this show was about the hardships of being an orphan and the love square that develops? Because I sure don’t.
「迷い猫、乗った」 (Mayoi Neko, Notta)
“Stray Cat, Rode In”
Unlike Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou this week, Mayoi Neko makes it clear they’re straying from the norm with a Grand Braver super robot episode. If the gigantic robots weren’t indicative enough, then the screams of “Gattai!” should help stress that notion.
「迷い猫、困った」 (Mayoi Neko, Komatta)
“Stray Cat, Troubled”
If you want to make yourself famous worldwide, there’s really no better way to do it than by posting a video on a streaming site nowadays.
「迷い猫、泣いた」 (Mayoi Neko, Naita)
“Stray Cat, Cried”
One of the things that have impressed me with AIC‘s work in comedies as of late is their tendency to try and tie in every episode with those before it, which isn’t something that one would normally expect from this genre.
「迷い猫、脱いだ」 (Mayoi Neko, Nuida)
“Stray Cat, Undressed”
I can’t say I remember the last time I’ve seen an episode where every single character, guys and girls alike, were naked 90% of the time, but AIC sure knows how to bring the fan-service with this gag-filled one.
