It’s that time of year again! While the snow’s melting outside and everyone’s out watching cherry blossoms bloom, the folks at RC have been busy preparing this spring’s anime preview. It features a total of 42 new shows, and many of them might sound familiar. There’s the long-awaited Mushishi Zoku Shou, a new season of FAIRY TAIL, the last saga of Dragon Ball Kai, and Soul Eater Not!, a spinoff of the original Soul Eater. Along with the familiar old shows, there always seems to be a new trend every season. This time I couldn’t help but notice the number of shows about NEETs (Mekaku City Actors, No Game No Life), and a healthy dosage of sports anime (Baby Steps, Haikyuu!!). There’s no shortage of different genres this season either – with not one, but two reverse harems, some great original mecha, and some much needed romance. It’s definitely not a season to be skimping on your watch list, so be prepared for a season of high expectations. Oh! And of course, a special thank you to you for reading!

Suddenly, one of the webcomics I read has a 5-episode anime short series. Surprise!

「もうひとつの桜色／放課後はハリーちゃんと♡」 (Mou Hitotsu no Sakurairo / Houkago wa Harii-chanto)
“Another Sakura Color / After School With Hari-chan”

This episode was both epic-level kawaii and totally hot. Kissing, kissing, and more kissing!

「いなり、初恋、初変化(へんげ)。」 (Inari, Hatsukoi, Hatsu Henka [Hen-ge])
“Inari, First Love, First Change (Transformation)”

That was a pleasant premiere.

「魔導検警機構」 (Madou Ken Kikou)
“Magical Security Organization”

Even perverts have honor, and enough power to obliterate school buildings when they’re angry, apparently. And then they do something stupid and get slapped in the face, hah!

「レディ・ジャスティス　Sword and Scales」 (Redi Jasutisu Sword and Scales)
“Lady Justice Sword and Scales”

For some reason I briefly tricked myself into believing bad-ass cop woman was the MC before being hit with a good dose of “wake up, it’s the Moe Era. Also, you read the Winter Preview, baka.”

“Promise”

Nisekoi is a love-hate relationship.

「人類皆征服」 (Jinrui Kai Seifuku)
“Conquer All Humans”

Boy meets little girl. Little girl wants to conquer the world. Boy joins little girl. Tanks get blown the $@&% up. This show is ridiculous and interesting, I’m just not sure whether the crazy setup works with the quasi-serious tone.

Silver Link is doing what they do best, but some things seem quite familiar…
