Shokugeki no Souma – 01
「果てなき荒野」 (Hatenaki Kouya)
“An Endless Wasteland”
Prepare your appetites for a season full of foodporn and foodgasms.

「大切な場所」 (Taisetsu na Basho)
“Precious Place”
Who are these people supposed to be?
「冒険者(ベル・クラネル)」 (Bouken-sha (Beru Kuraneru))
“Bell Cranel Adventurer”
Good animation, pacing, and likable characters are juxtaposed by a plot that’s uninspired and, frankly, a little chauvinistic. I’m not sure how I feel about this one on the whole, though I don’t hate it so far … with some caveats.
「思い出うごうご」 (Omoide Ugougo (7.5))
“Wriggling Memories”
While it may have been a little slow for a first episode, I’ll give the writers props for not making it so otaku focused as the first season’s was. That and I’m still impressed with how much they managed to pack into a mere 3 minutes.

Now that the spring preview is out, it’s time to give you a first look at the shows we’ll be blogging. This is Random Curiosity’s Spring 2015 blogging schedule.
As always, this is a tentative overview of our plans for the new season. We’ll also be doing introductory posts on many of the shows we’re not covering, so if something catches our eyes, things will be shifted around to accommodate. The schedule will be updated to reflect any changes.
I can’t believe a year has already passed since I last wrote a preview introduction. I love spring; not only because it brings us warmer weather, but it’s one of my favorite anime seasons, and it marks the anniversary for a handful of writers here at Random Curiosity. This April we welcome back a ton of sequels to everyone’s favorite series. We have newly announced sequels after last year’s successful prequels (Nisekoi:, Sidonia no Kishi: Dai-kyuu Wakusei Sen-eki), and some series with long-awaited sequels (Digimon Adventure tri., Yahari Ore no Seishun Rabukome wa Machigatteiru. Zoku). There’s also a good combination of new (Kekkai Sensen, Shokugeki no Souma) and old (Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season) adaptation favorites. And if none of that tickles your fancy, you still have completely original anime (Plastic Memories) to look forward to. Regardless of what your preferences are, I don’t doubt that you’ll find something that catches your eye this season. After a mediocre winter season, I’m so pumped for spring! Bring on all 46 shows!

We’re already one month in the new year! I can’t believe how quickly time flies because this winter season has completely escaped me. Crazy! I don’t know about everyone else, but I live up in the North and it’s incredibly cold here so I just want to hibernate all day all the time. Thus, I haven’t been watching too many series this season but the ones I have picked up are definitely some great conversation pieces. Hopefully everyone has found something this winter as well and if there’s an anime that we haven’t talked about already, feel free to mention it in the comments. Maybe it’ll spark others to give it a try too.
「邂逅」 (Kaigou)
“Chance Encounter”
So, after hyping the show up both in my mind and on the preview, does the anime adaptation manage to do the series justice? Hint: Sort of, but not really.
「キング・オブ・ルーキー」 (Kingu Obu Rookii)
“King Of Rookies”
I’m not quite sure what the I just watched but what we got felt like a strange mixture of cool and confusing.
「転生せし者」 (Tensei Seshi Mono)
“The Reincarnator”
Of all the magical-fantasy-action-harem anime based on a light novels I’ve watched so far this season, this one may not be the worst, but it disappointed me the most. This first episode is an absolute mess.
