「思い出うごうご」 (Omoide Ugougo (7.5))
“Wriggling Memories”
While it may have been a little slow for a first episode, I’ll give the writers props for not making it so otaku focused as the first season’s was. That and I’m still impressed with how much they managed to pack into a mere 3 minutes.
A Pretty Good First Episode
Making its return after a one season break, Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken returns to pick up right where it left off. Bringing back our adorable but dorky couple Kaoru and Hajime, we finally get another chance to get a peek into their everyday life. Hajime is still otaku as ever while Kaoru seems to have relaxed a bit more since we last saw her. Then again, if I recall correctly Kaoru is supposed to be pregnant so if anything I kind of expected her emotions to be a bit exaggerated if anything!
Jumping to episode specifics, this week did a nice job at giving us a closer look into some of Kaoru’s somewhat delinquent past. Besides reminding us that she actually did dye her hair blonde after marrying Hajime, it looks like this senpai of hers was one tough cookie. I mean, I can understand punching a hole through a wall but throwing someone completely through bricks? Sounds kind of scary!
Looking Forward
While the show may still only be a mere 3 minutes per episode, I’m happy that the sequel hasn’t strayed too far from the original. If I had to raise one complaint, and this is more of a subjective one than an objective one, it would have to be the rather somber tone the ending sequence took. I absolutely loved the first season’s ending song (sometimes even getting a little teary when something heartwarming happened through the episode) and had that full version on repeat for a really long time. Then again, I can also understand if this season is trying to show us the transition from newlywed to a seasoned family since both the bar and their outfits are pretty fancy.
In either case, I’m super happy to see this show come back for another season and I hope you’ll be here with me as we watch Kaoru, Hajime, and whoever else may be on the way live their lives!
P.S. On a side note, unless we were getting trolled by the ending of the first season, Kaoru has to be pregnant, right? I mean, she’s a notorious drinker and there wasn’t any alcohol in sight as she ate that ramen. Also, how can you not love how they managed to fit in tons of sex somewhere in the first episode like they did last season?
P.P.S. Let’s try to make this one of the most popular shows of this season \o/
ED Sequence
ED: 「ゆるがぬふたり ~愛の賛歌~」 (Yuruganu Futari ~Ai no Sanka~) by カオウとハジメ (CV:田村ゆかり & 鈴村健一) (Kaoru and Hajime (CV: Tamura Yukari & Suzumura Kenichi))
I kept waiting for some one to mention the fact that she was pregnant too, hopefully they wont just side step it and set the season before it happened.
Also I found the new ED kinda nice.
What bugs me a bit is if you look at the episode title card

There’s a 7.5 there..
I saw the 7.5 as well and wondered. But if they’re going that far to indicate when this was, wouldn’t it be a hopeful sign they’ll stick to canon anyway?
Not only wasn’t Kaoru drinking, she didn’t have a single cigarette this episode. I think the pregnancy is for real.
The school girl Hajime got in trouble taking a picture of … I think that was a reference to the earlier short Cyclops Shoujo Saipu.
Actually the girl seems to be a character from another manga, Frau Rabbit, by the same author as Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken.
The senpai Kaoru mentions is Metsuko of the manga Metsuko ni Yoroshiku. 16 year old Kaoru and Miki-san (a.k.a. Destiny F*cker), also appear in that manga in important roles.
Also, someone who looks like Metsuko made an appearance in the first season, working for Miki-san: http://i.imgur.com/yQbyjAa.jpg
Yay~
I will watch the first season first though. I mean come on, it’s 39 total minutes long!
Congratulations on being the blogger to kick off Spring 2015, Takaii!
Thank you, Takaii! Without you, I would not have watched the entire first season yesterda. I now understand the following:
This was especially true of Episode 11. I did not expect to get a little teary-eyed at the time.
I now look forward to the rest of this second season!
*yesterday
A friend recommended this to me..
So I marathoned the entire Season 1 in about 40 minutes…
I haven’t laughed that hard for a long time lol.
Now that I caught up to Season 2,
I didn’t expect this sort of anime to make references to older anime that isn’t Evangelion…
1) Yamcha’s death in Dragon Ball…wasn’t there a figurine release of this exact same pose recently?

2) Instant recognization since I loved the Cooking Master Boy anime
….pity it ended on a cliffhanger all those years ago..

Anime recommmendations now? XD
I know another short anime that’s ongoing, its not as good as this one, but its still hilarious.
Any of you heard or watched Anime de Wakaru Shinryounaika yet? (English = Comical Psychosomatic Medicine)
Basically a psychiatry doctor tries to enlighten us about a certain psychology-related disease every episode, but his assistant ends up turning it into a hilarious tsukkomi gag to his frustration.
If I got it right, there’s about 8 episodes out right now at around 3 minutes each,
so it wouldn’t take too much time for a marathon viewing.
Did you have your runes Eaten? Valrave 😛
I like how her senpai made the Glico man sign in the wall.
Like a sneaky vampire, Valvrave suddenly rose from its hitech coffin to surprise viewers.
Amazing how they can make something that’s a bit more adult-leaning so adorable.
Kaoru-tan best actual waifu.

She hits as hard as Horizon.
