Even though I knew it’d be a stretch for a show like this to have a continuation episode, I believed it could happen all the way until the episode started. Anyways, it looks like we’re off to the bowling alley this week!
A Lack of Common Interest
This week’s episode felt pretty tame in comparison to everything we’ve seen thus far — and I don’t consider that a bad thing. Jumping back toward the latter end of where the first season left us, I loved how the story focused on how to handle a lack of common interests. Instead of trying to give us a stale view at opposites attract but don’t necessarily get along well outside of their relationship, it was nice to see Hajime take the initiative and give Kaoru an opportunity to do something she enjoyed. Drawing from his memory and remembering something Kaoru probably told him before (Nice one Hajime!), it goes to show you that being attentive and paying attention to your significant other can overcome things that society would say is unsolvable!
What was probably the clincher though had to be Hajime quietly accepting that he’d have to clean his room. Not responding with a sarcastic remark but not giving up the opportunity to put a little bit of his trademark personality in it, I think his simple “Ma’am, Yes Ma’am” really expressed his willingness to change a little for the most important person in his life. Because what good does paying attention do if you don’t have true feelings that special person?
Random Thoughts
Jumping away from our main couple, I found it funny how Miki and Youta got the second most screen time. Specifically, the constant reminder that Miki is somehow the master of drawing the short end of the stick. I mean, we constantly see him getting into some kind of mishap but with the added burden of Youta constantly hounding him with the same amount of passion he has for Hajime just makes me feel bad for the guy.
Looking Forward
Another week, another blissful 3 minutes of my favorite adult couple and their friends. Catch you guys next week when we get another glimpse at all the stuff the show didn’t manage to put in during the first season!
Man, just watching this show week after week makes me wonder what kinda thoughts a Japanese person would have if they were to watch this show… I know I love it, and I know we love it, but what about them? 🙂

Are they ever going to reference the fact that Kaoru is pregnant?
Well, we’ve had episodes #7.5, 9.5 and 8.5 so far. If next week’s episode is #6.5 or earlier, then there’s probably not much hope other than maybe a final episode troll (again). If it’s #10.5 or later, then we might get lucky with newer content in the second half of this season.
Just wondering because it’s an important development from end of last season.
There are only three chapters of the manga scanlated to date. I suppose it’s a question for those that have read the ongoing 4 volumes in Japanese to spoiler-tagged answer … or we just impatiently wait and see. 😛
Anyone recognize the song playing in the background at the bowling alley? It sounds *so* familiar, but I can’t quite place it.
