「石の世界の二つの国」 (Ishi no Sekai no Futatsu no Kuni)
“Two Nations of the Stone World”

What a wild episode with a just as wild idea coming from Senku.

Before I start anything, I just need to ask — am I the only one who thinks of the word “guano” whenever the show decides to show bats or the cave they live in?

God, what a build up to letting us know that Senku managed to make it past his deadly encounter with Tsukasa. Honestly, if there’s something that Dr. STONE knows how to do, it’s how to tell a story about a close knit group of characters who all have tangible reasons behind why they behave the way they do. Using Senku’s revival as a prime example, it wasn’t just pure luck that Taiju and Yuzuriha were able to figure it out. It was a combination of not only noticing his strange new habit but knowing that it was out of the norm compared to how he normally is — something that they wouldn’t have known had they not been close friends 3700 years ago. The thing is, instead of just forcing exposition down our throats, it’s moments like when Senku gets emotional after he finally gets a moment to take a look at his best friend that speak volumes about his motivations and needs as an individual. All of which eventually lead to powerfully emotional moments that really leave an impact on you.

Diving back to the present, I absolutely love where the story is going right now. With two opposing factions about to appear, I thought it was brilliant how Senku suggested that his two best friends infiltrate the enemy’s ranks instead of staying close to him. Besides showing his selflessness, I can’t imagine how crazy that talk with Taiju, Yuzuriha, and Tsukasa will be in the future. That said, I’d be lying if I didn’t say my favorite part of the episode was Kohaku’s introduction. Besides trying to take on the final boss, her simple but honest personality swooned my heart the moment she expressed her feelings for Senku.

God, I love it when episodes are efficient and use every second they can to tell their story. This week’s episode felt real long, but that’s because it was trying to pack as much as it could within a mere twenty five minutes. In any case, I’ll catch you guys next week where we’ll hopefully get to see just what Kohaku’s people are like. See you then!

  1. I want to know the same thing as Senku – did Kohaku and her people actually get petrified in the first place or did they somehow escape it? With almost 4,000 more years of human evolution, that could explain her uguu-face!

    1. Perhaps she is some X Generation of peoples that “survived” the petrification. Perhaps workers in deep Mines.. Yes that would need also female workers to born Children

Do this Dr.Stone world also have Deep Underwater Cities or something?

Yes, if they break it into the core. Some “Adam and Eva” pairs survived, and they found plenty of food and Water in the meantime. So i would bet some “village” peoples, because they do know more of food productions and such as some city citizen, right? Most only know they buy stuff in a market put it in a fridge and so on…

Ugh yeah it tugged at heart strings that I didn’t even know existed or something.

Definitely a good call in terms of making things more interesting, but makes me sad that the trio are separated. Can’t wait to know how things will pan out, will it literally be the “long war” and they literally will build up their own villages and not see each other for years!? That would be unbearable for me though

  3. I said this in the last episode’s comments too, but yeah… the foreshadowing was spectacular, and on top of that, the catharsis was spectacular. Also, yeah, Kohaku seems like a great character already. I dropped the manga after about episode 3’s events, so I was clearly missing a lot.
