“Maybe We Should Invite Ourselves Over”
Man, what a wild episode with a just as wild ending. Que sera, sera.
Starting with the introduction of two more Somas, I think we can all agree that there was a very important question that everyone failed to ask (or answer) — what is Hattori’s zodiac animal?! Jokes aside, I wasn’t expecting this week to be filled with so many punches to the heart. So many punches that you could probably use this week’s episode in place of a defibrillator.
Starting with the short but sweet moment when Tohru was reminiscing about her mom when she was consoling Yuki, I wasn’t expecting to be hit with a swell of emotions as I wrote this on Mother’s Day in the States. Looking back on it, I’m sure we’ve all had those moments where our Mom would say something that we know was full of love but wouldn’t necessarily reciprocate for whatever childish reasons were in our head. Which is why watching Tohru clearly understand, accept, and appreciate the words her Mom was saying really hit me in the feels. As a side bonus we got to see Yuki also lift his head up, but that pales in comparison.
Second, I was absolutely enamored with just how much Uo and Hana love Tohru. As people who are obviously closer to the outcast side, it probably meant the world to them when Tohru befriended them. Especially when you consider just how straightforward she is and how that honesty when dealing with a bunch of fake people meant to them. God, today was just a week full of feels!
Another fantastic episode and I dare say one of my favorites thus far. That said, even amongst all the fuwafuwa and good times, it looks like there’s something ominous brewing behind the scenes with Akito obviously planning something (with Shigure hopefully doing his best to slow down or prevent whatever that is). That and it looks like we’re finally going to kick off solving the mystery behind the old ragged cap that Tohru has kept since her childhood.
In any case, I’ll catch you guys next week where it looks like Tohru will be taking a trip over to the Soma’s family home for who knows what. Hopefully it doesn’t involve Hattori doing something fishy since the last thing I think my heart could take is another sad moment between Tohru, Kyo, and Yuki. See you then!

They mixed two eps into one :0
Everything felt a bit rushed but I enjoyed all the content so it was fine. This feels very early episodes of FMA:Brotherhood.
I was able to watch some Episodes and i recommend this Anime, too. While it looked for me in the beginning like an “Otome” Anime with Episode 5 and now 6, it now chances. There is more then being just “otome”, sure there are still feelings and stuff and Girls all over the Boys, but because the MC Girl’s background and how they handle it, it become “stronger”
It’s definitely not otome, despite how setup looks. I mean, it’s not like otomes aren’t capable of deeper feelings but what makes Fruits Basket shine is how it balances character drama with its extraordinary set up.

-I think I’d like more of the close-up instead: https://randomc.net/image/Fruits%20Basket/Fruits%20Basket%20-%2006%20-%20Large%2018.jpg
-I still can’t get over her color change: https://randomc.net/image/Fruits%20Basket/Fruits%20Basket%20-%2006%20-%2003.jpg
-If you were hoping to see more of Shigure (at least transformation) then you’ll be let down. But you’ll see more of Hatori instead.

Although overall it was mostly okay, there was a slew of unfortunate animation problem’s particularly with Tohru’s face this episode. Not sure whether to blame adherence to the author’s progressively crappier art style as the series went on (lots of those stereotypical egghead oval faces here, yes i know it was due to injury but it was still hauntingly ugly) or if it’s just bad animation. It does look a lot like egghead though
