「元気そうだな……」 (Genkisoudane….)
“You Look Well…”
Things are finally getting spicy.
General Impressions
For a lighthearted episode, I was rather surprised with the punches this week’s episode was trying to pull. Luckily, those punches feel like the precursor to something big happening in the story.
Kicking things off on the lighter side, it was quite something watching Tohru on the receiving end of some troubles this week. As the metaphorical anchor of the story that keeps everyone else grounded to the world, it was really surprising to see her breakdown a bit as she was trying to deal with her inner struggles. Breakdown might be a bit severe in terms of describing it, but I think it isn’t that far out there when you consider she came down with a fever from all the stress. Luckily Kyo stepped up to the plate this week and busted out his housewife skills to help out with things. Between cooking a meal for Tohru to opening up a bit and thoughtfully listening to the cause of all of her stress, we saw an unexpectedly soft side to Kyo.
However, as if the story was trying to hide the bigger point amongst all of Tohru’s stress, I thought the more interesting part was Kagura bringing up Kyo’s secret that I’m sure we’re all dying to know about. With some new hints being dropped like his bead bracelet having something to do with it, it makes me wonder just what the heck could have happened that would have affected Kagura in the way that it did. That and with the sudden return of Kyo’s master from the mountains, it definitely feels like we’re about to learn more about whatever it is that Kyo’s hiding.
Boy, what an episode! With a majority of the cast making an appearance at some point, it felt almost like a small reunion with everyone coming by to say hi. Hopefully this episode marks the start of something new but only time will tell if next week’s episode will bring any more details to Kyo’s past. Based on the title of next week’s episode though, I wouldn’t be too surprised if we learned of some grave secrets that gives Tohru the opportunity to say something like that to Kyo. I guess we’ll just have to wait and that notion drives me CRAZY. Anyways, I’ll catch you guys next week — see you then!

Kyo is my forever tsundere boy. Thank you Takaya-San for my life.
I start to like Fruits Basket once the episodic part is over and the different chapters are starting to become more connected to each other. That’s why it was such a pity that the first anime stopped right where it was starting to get interesting. Luckily, this time we’ll get a second and a third season 😀
First off, I wouldn’t say that cooking is a “housewife” skill anymore. Secondly, seeing how Yuki was scoring up points with Tohru, it’s about time Kyo shows his considerate side and win some hearts. And why are they changing more hair colors… https://randomc.net/image/Fruits%20Basket/Fruits%20Basket%20-%2023%20-%20Large%2038.jpg
I can’t wait for the final episode.

I can’t wait for next episode. No spoilers, but this is the episode I have been waiting for, one of the most personally impactful story in an anime for me, so I can’t wait!
Also what is this torture when last episodes took away the main charecters from us xD with a lot of side stories, after the next few episodes end, I will officially be in the NO SPOILER PLEASE ZONE of Fruit Basket, rn I’m just reminiscing!
