「パシリスト坂本 & 恋のかくれんぼ」 (Pashirisuto Sakamoto & Koi no Kakurenbo)
“Errand Boy Sakamoto & Love Hide-and-Seek”
Sakamoto is really a piece of work, ain’t he?
Errand Boy Sakamoto
Continuing on with his jump from job to job, this week Sakamoto ended up being a simple errand boy for a pretty sleazy second year named Maruyama. Rocking a disgustingly shiny purple shirt and a hairstyle that only a mother could love, it’s rather surprising that he was able to Sakamoto of all people to do anything for him. But the story was quick to remind us just how to-the-books Sakamoto is and that he’d have absolutely no qualms serving his elders especially if it meant he’d be able to grow and learn from his servitude.
But as they say, too much of a good thing can be bad and boy did Maruyama find that out the hard way after turning off Sakamoto’s personal limiter. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I’d ever want to be in a situation where Sakamoto had completely autonomy of the situation where he was serving me. Besides having to worry that he’d do something ridiculous like interrupt me while I’m in the bathroom (which actually happened!), that way he’s just so perfect at everything would probably keep me too on edge to really relax – which coincidentally was the exact same thing that happened to Maruyama! And the greatest part of the whole skit was that Sakamoto never realized what he did since he was just trying his best to do his best.
Kubota’s Mom
Okay, so, I was a little creeped out by the second skit. I’ve heard horror stories about moms and their children’s friends getting a little too close, but boy did this hit a little too close to home. Turning things up way pass creepy stalker levels; the whole thing of Sakamoto scurrying around was equally funny and terrifying. And if you didn’t find it terrifying, let me remind you that Kuboat’s prefaced the whole thing with the fact that what was going on was literally about to break his parent’s marriage!
But again, in typical Sakamoto fashion, he manages to come out on top without too much collateral damage. I mean, I don’t think there was any way of rejecting Kubota’s mom without hurting her feelings, but at least he did it gracefully?
Looking Ahead
I’ll be honest, I’m really surprised just how good this show is. Without going overboard, it somehow manages to tie in Sakamoto’s “cool, cooler, coolest” type of character without making it feel boring – a problem I thought we were going to run into a long time ago. Toss in that all the episodes thus far have been pretty entertaining in their own unique way and you have a show that’s completely blown passed my expectations.
Anyways, I won’t make any promises about continued coverage just yet. But who knows! See you next week!

I am quite surprised at the continued quality too; the comedic timing continues to be very spot-on and varied

The last part was like a horror show… That mother was too insane/obsessive… Flirting with swagamoto in front of his husband, The fck is what I could say. Thank god swagamoto is far too cool and damn talented to avoid the monsther (typo intentional).
I feel you. It was a little.. much.

Prostrate yourself before the One True Sakamoto.
On the next week of Swagmoto: return of Yorokobe, Shounen.
I can see why mangaka Sano Nami won awards for Sakamoto.

this mom face reminds me of some Stephan King film… where a Pig and a bedridden writer play a major role…
I though the 1st episode was funny. The 2nd was ok but now I saw the 3rd episode I find myself less interested in this show. The joke this week were IMO weak and I didn’t see humor making fun of lonely woman whom stay at home. The bully sequence got creepy like other said.
The first episode was still the best by far, but the rest are still good. I hope DEEN is able to sustain this for the rest of the episodes.
