Summary:
Upon realizing that his flame color is silver, Yuuji remembers back to how Lamies had told Margery not to chase the Silver. At the time, Margery couldn’t give up on it and had declared that it was everything for her. Alastor now confirms for Yuuji that this is the reason Margery is a Flame Haze, but since they don’t understand why Yuuji’s flame is this color, Alastor suggests they wait for Wilhelmina’s return. Agreeing with him, Shana warns Yuuji not to use his power of existence until then so that Margery doesn’t find out. The next morning, Yuuji meets with Ogata in front of Konoe’s house, but it turns out that Konoe isn’t feeling so well, so her butler had offered to bring her to school himself once she’s doing better. She eventually does come to class right as everyone is in the middle of preparations for the upcoming school festival. As Ike explains, their festival starts with a parade where representatives of each class don costumes and march through town.
The costumes this year are going to be from The Wizard of Oz and Romeo and Juliet, and Konoe has been chosen as one of the eight representatives. So far, they’ve decided that Eita will be the Lion, Keisaku will be the Tin Woodman, Ike will be the Scarecrow, Yuuji will be Romeo, and Ogata will be Toto. Of the three remaining parts, Kazumi, Shana, and Konoe all want to be Juliet, but drawing lots decides that Kazumi gets the part while Shana gets Dorothy and Konoe gets the Wizard. Shana, however, finds it strange that she’s not opposed to Kazumi being beside Yuuji like she would have been in the past. Yuuji meanwhile is concerned about if Konoe will be okay with this since she’s not used to the parade and considers switching roles, but Shana knows how much Kazumi wants to be Juliet to Yuuji’s Romeo and thus insists that he stick to it.
Later that day, Kazumi and Shana head to Yuuji’s house for some costume help from his mother, and they discuss why Romeo is a suitable role for Yuuji. Both Shana and Kazumi see connections in the Romeo and Juliet story with their own situations, and Kazumi comments on being able to see but not being able to reach someone. Chigusa’s advice is that it’s okay if they give up because of a wall, but if not – if they really want to be with a person – then their feelings will show them what they should do. As they leave the Sakai household, Shana senses someone following them and hides herself and Kazumi to avoid this person catching up with them. Once the man gives up and turns back around, Shana follows him and kicks him when he bumps into Yuuji. To Shana’s surprise, Yuuji recognizes this man as his father – Sakai Kantarou. He turns out to be a pretty nice guy who had just wanted to see the everyday happenings of the household, and Shana and Kazumi end up staying for dinner with the Sakai family. When Kazumi comments on how young Yuuji’s parents are, Yuuji reveals that they were married when they were still students.
Afterwards, Kazumi and Shana talk with Kantarou about what Chigusa said earlier, and he tells them about his relationship with his wife. His advice to the girls is that if they’re unsure, then they should first extend their hands because doing so will allow them to reach out for something. Meanwhile, in Paris, Wilhelmina meets with Khamsin over how Pheles is still alive. Khamsin reveals that Pheles is searching for the Reiji Maigo because it’s a memento of an irreplaceable lover for her, so it’s just a matter of time before she finds Yuuji.
Preview:
Well the animation this episode wasn’t quite as bad as I thought it’d be, but maybe that reflects more on my lower standards for non-combat episodes. The (brief) parts with Khamsin and Wilhelmina also seemed a lot better than the rest of the episode, so that might have helped. The episode itself was more setup for future stuff and character development. Yuuji’s father showed up, but he doesn’t appear to have anything supernatural about him and seems to be here just to give the girls some advice when they need it. Other than that, the interesting parts of the episode for me was the talk about Pheles at the end and the extended focus on Konoe, her butler, and their bracelets during this scene. Given the relative lack of development there, I’m beginning to wonder if Konoe will be around all the way until the end of the second series since they appear to be going down the Pheles path of the story now. Not that I’m complaining because Pheles and learning more about the Reiji Maigo are pretty interesting, particularly when compared to the school life stuff.
Great Shana, you have kicked you father-in-law… what a nice start
Syaoran Li: I agree with you!
Kantaro is awesome.
So Kashim’s back huh? Judging from the pics, is Wilhemina back in town?
well, it looks like the father was able to block the kick using his forearm . Looks like Shana thought he was an enemy hence why she and Yoshida are hiding on the roof.
hahahahha lol @first comment :D, I agree with you 100%
I wonder what this is about?

Nice episode btw.
@DarkReign
Looks like she’s bending over in the first pic, and the result of bending over in the second pic.
Yuuji Chichi is putting on an act, he’s the Silver-Flamed Tomogara.
Looks like she’s about to take up the ass.
I imagine Wilhemina’s worried about meeting

Looks like Khamsin’s back.
Atleast there doesn’t seem to be much Konoe in this episode. I feared she would annoy us once more with her I’m too stupid to take a crap on my own spiel.
this episode was pretty good for an episode with no fighting involved, this is how those lame konoe episodes should have been! >_
and woot winter uniforms return!
hmmm. nice ep, is already ep 10 wondering when yugi notice shana like him !!! Cant w8 >_
Heh, Echizen Ryoma is back? Good times.
Blkdemon, he already knows she likes him seeing as at the end of the first series she told him that she loves him.
Is someone here who read the novels and can tell me if there’s sth special about Yujis parents? (sorry if name written wrong, bit tired atm..)
@mutio
Nothing special about them, yuji got the way he is just randomly. You will find out he has not been the first one later on, it was just the fact he got involved with shana that made him special. IT is AL SHANA’s fault, if she had not gotten interested in Yuji the story would have gone on.
@PWnzaur That was retconned in the first episode, because it never happened in the novels. Now he didn’t understand what she said at that moment.
@PWnzaur remember in the first ep he said he didnt hear what she said
i think thie series begin to be so boring… maybe like the second season of Zero no Tsuikaima, the stories seems to be forgotten and it’s like wE’re completly out of it -_-.
Though this show was good.. it’s boring now -_- hope this will change…
This episode seemed more like a season 1 episode than most other school life episodes in this season.
Though Pheles is coming quite soon. Though not next episode, she’s probably going to show up in episode 12.
Ack, must not… spoil…
There’s absolutely nothing special about Kantaro though, that much has been made clear in the books. It seems that something’s been going on with him and Chigusa in the background though (as married couples are apt to do), as it’s hinted in the later novels that she’s pregnant.
You could spoil by putting in tags. I know it’s not much of a use, and pretty much begs people to click it. But it is one way to do it. 😀
I wonder how Konoe is going to fit into all this. It’s one thing for her to get her own arc, but I can’t see how she’ll fit with the Pheles storyline. It’s already convoluted enough as it is.

They’re not doing a play, they’re doing a costume parade. And that’s not spoilers as that was actually mentioned in this episode. Just like how Khamsin called Pheles a “she”.
Yuji = Romeo
Yoshida = Juliet
Shana = Dorothy (from The Wizard of Oz)
Ike = Scarecrow
Satou = Tinman
Tanaka = Lion
Konoe = Wizard/Witch (the word used here is “Mahoutsukai”, which literally means “magic user” and is commonly translated as “magician”, I am not completely sure if she’s supposed to be either a Wizard or a Witch)
Omni, you forgot to mention that Kantarou is voiced by Fujiwara Keiji, which is an excellent cast choice. Fujiwara is adept at doing these sort of laidback, yet mature characters, as can be seen in Maes Hughes in Fullmetal Alchemist and Hanamoto Shuuji in Honey & Clover.
I didn’t “forget” – I agree that he’s a good choice, but it’s just not as significant a thing for me as it might be for others.
Yuji’s dad showing up also have another purpose. He comes by to put a bun in the oven, Yu version 3.
Yuji will have to put his combat skills to the test against Pheles when she shows up. I wonder why she was hallucinating that Yuji was Johan in the intro.
@bearzerger
do u know where i can get the novels o and are they english trans
When are we going to get back to the action!?
@tronyca
The English translation of SNS light novel is avaliable. I believe it’s up to volume 2.
Original Japanese version I believe is up to volume 17. I’m reading the Chinese translation, which is up to volume 15. I don’t know of any other language translations of the novel, in case English is not your only language.
