Production I.G. announced that they will be releasing a limited edition CD single for the Oasis song, “Falling Down“. It will also include a DVD with a music video for the song animated by Production I.G. and it is set to be released in Japan on May 27th. If anyone was concerned the DVD will include the original “Falling Down” music video.
The supernatural manga Majin Tantei Nōgami Neuro ended its run on Monday after four years of being published in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga written by Yusei Matsui focused on a demon named Neuro Nougami who feasts on riddles. Sounds like a twisted version of Yu-Gi-Oh, to me.
A promotional video is up for Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, which will be released on DVD in Japan on June 24th, an OVA prequel to the original series. The OVA is about the friendship of Tenma and Alone who later become mortal enemies. TMS Entertainment are also streaming the trailer on their Youtube page.
If you’ve been experiencing symptoms of despair as of late then would you please let out a collective sigh of relief. A third season of Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei has been green-lit and will premiere in July. Zan Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei will continue to follow Itoshiki Nozomu, the most negative person in the world who just so happens to be a high-school teacher. Don’t you feel better already?
Sunsoft producer Tomohiro Seki announced that his company has upcoming anime plans for Leiji Matsumoto‘s latest manga Out Of Galaxy Koshika. It’s about a beautiful woman and a young boy aboard a dimensional ship who journey to save the Earth. Sounds a bit familiar. Too familiar. Seki also revealed that the manga will be available on Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch.
Dragonball: Evolution has officially dropped out of the Top 10 in the U.S. box office. It opened up at #8 with a $1,575,000. Since the new numbers it’s estimated at $7,825,000 and $44,692,875 worldwide. Anybody see this yet?
(And yes, I did use Babelfish for all of that.)

Considering what a low budget movie DBE was, it, apparently, fulfilled the studio’s expectations.
And we will get a sequel with a lot bigger budget and more promotions.
sigh,,, a picture of Alice over there but not being to find out its current episode review,,, Thanks
Haha Dragonball movie really was an epic fail!
I hope you remembered to Babelfish it back to English at least once, to make sure that the translation makes at least a little sense both ways.
(¡Y no usé Babelfish tampoco!)
I was asked to go watch Dragonball coz it looked “interestig” shot down that idea faster than u can say no
Jajajaja, that ponyo thing was soooooooooo cute! Spanish dubs done in Spain are usually good, a lot better than Mexican’s. At least, I think so.
Dragonball movie was enjoyable. They listened a bit after fans saw clips of the first half and made it turn much more towards the series. When ever anything was actually bad we were all in the theater having a good laugh over it. Much like the old live action street fighter movie.
I doubt this, but will you guys blog ss the lost canvas?
where is the character in the picture from?
WOW, DB:E really was a bust, i mean, it made money overseas, but what movie can be considered a success when it only makes 7 mil domestically. hell, most romantic comedies cost 20 mil. i doubt they could generate the interest for a sequel. all the people overseas who bought a ticket now know how bad it was and wont see a second one, and all the people here that didnt buy a ticket will do the same.
Another chilean reader here
Seeing something in spanish in this blog was a freak moment, but thanks, the text makes sense and was a nice surprise
And I don’t like spanish dubs… original language is always better for everything
Dragonball Evolution sucks…
@ChrnoReaper
Its Alice from Pandora Hearts. Anime currently ongoing but would suggest manga is better.
Ah, I can’t wait for the animated Falling Down music video!
@GGear0323
The problem was promotion. IT had no promotion.
Fox wanted to make an “xmen-ish” dbz however director wanted to do an “origins” story first, so Fox just threw 45million$ for movie and 0$ for promotions.
So how much they made is actually good, as fox considers it as “successful” enough to invest more money in the sequel.
There’s interview with J.masters(Piccolo) where he talks about the budget and director intentions.
Its clear that Director wanted everything to have a start, db-like start, however Fox just did not care, so J.Wong had to do whatever possible with that laughably small budget.
At first it was planned to have ~100+million dollar budget, but after J.Wong refused to use the first version of the script (remember, the infamous “Teenager Goku defends earth from evil nameks from outer space” plot) and went for more “DB-Like” plot, Fox cut budget in half.
The point here is – The “Sequel” will get a bigger budget and more promotion, so it won’t “flop”
@ cbhl
Oh, trust me I did. For the most part it made sense, to me at least. I apologize for butchering the language and Babelfish is just as guilty.
@ flappy
I would probably blog Pandora Hearts if I wasn’t such a bad blogger. I am enjoying the series so far.
wow, that’s a really good picture of Alice
Post two dozen or so screen shots, include some witty comments about the lead female’s facial expressions, add a comment towards the end in Spanish, and tadaa! Pandora Hearts – gogogo.
Dragonball Evolution was a travesty. I’m surprised everyone who worked on the movie hasn’t attempted suicide yet.
I dare say that maybe if Uwe Boll had directorial duties it might have turned out slightly better.
Neuro ended? o__o; that’s disappointing news.
I wonder if there’ll be a 2nd season on the anime ver.
Sat what? Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro finished? Gah I hope the scantalations come out soon.
ZOMGGG THIRD SEASON OF SAYONARA ZETSUBOU SENSEI!!!!!! YEEEAAAAA
😀
@Unknown Voice
The problem is: even if the sequel is actually decent, who wants to see the second movie in a series when you didn’t see the first one? Unless it’s fantastic most people will pass. Maybe DB(Z) fans will care. I can almost guarantee a second DB movie will not make $50M+ domestically even if the budget is $100M.
With that said, I don’t think anyone will care unless it is based on DBZ, and not DB. I enthusiastically watched DBZ, but I saw zero episodes of DB.
Totally looking forward to the 3rd season of Zetsubou Sensei!!! XD
And Production IG is making an ANIMATED music video for Falling Down? *flails in excitement* DO WANT. DO WANT NOW!!! \(^o^)/
@Anon
Oh but that depends on promotions.
Just look at the new star trek movie!
Last ~4 star trek movies tanked…hard…
However a bit of famous faces, good comments and ads on the walls and the new star trek movie is the hottest thing in town.
We shouldn’t underestimate the power of marketing ;]
Right: Hola, amigos.
Hey, first post here…
I agree with unknownvoice. The first trailer of DB:E that I saw was the Japanese trailer, and it made me want to see the movie mostly because it played to the DB fan in me, but as soon as I saw the US trailer, all that went away. The japanese trailer had the battle cry of the kamehameha wave and the fighting sequences in the clip, but pretty much all the American trailer had was a teenager being bullied, and learning how to deal with that. Like I said, as soon as I saw the trailer, I didn’t want to see it anymore, thinking, I had to live through teen problems four years ago, and I don’t want to go back now.
Although it”s my first post, I’ve been reading the blogs for about a year, and I just have to say: it was quite nice to see a bit of spanish here…that satisfied the Peruvian half of me.
I was sad to see it happen to Dragonball, but a flop was necessary to knock sense into Hollywood’s head and I guarantee that if they had used this hypothetical “namek enemy” plot the returns would have been even lower. I just hope that some actual intelligence and talent will be used for the Goth movie.
That picture of Alice reminds me of a certain picture of Haruna from To love Ru that Jaalin had posted before.
who is Alice btw? she looks like evil!~
Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro has nothing of ressemblance to Yu-Gi-Oh(by FAR, a twisted version of it)! It’s about a demon called Neuro who comes to the human world looking for hard-to-solve cases and that’s when he meets a young high school girl who still hasn’t managed to figure out how her father died and eho might’ve murdered him(classically, the police tagged his death as ”suicide”) so he keeps tagging along with her until her mystery is solved.
Rig..Wrong XDD: Hola, amigos.
Right: ‘Hola, mis amigos.
