Utada Hikaru’s newest song Flavor of Life comes in several flavors, and the one featured in Hana Yori Dango 2 and this PV is the ballad version. Unlike her some of her other PVs which have been flashy and high production value, this feels more down to earth in showing the recording of the song with an orchestra. Of course that makes it less exciting to watch, but I don’t really mind because I love her voice and this song. I’m very curious to hear what the other versions of this song – original, karaoke, antidote mix – sound like, but I’ll probably have to wait until the single is released to find out.
Utada Hikaru’s Flavor Of Life single is due out on February 28th, 2007.
I’ve also been waiting for some new material from Utada Hikaru. Didn’t realize it was in Hana Yori Dango but come to think about it it’s definately Utada singing. Can’t wait till next ep airs ^__^

i don’t like Utada, she can’t hit the notes right and this song is not good as planetarium.

I don’t hate Utada but I admire her voice rather than her singing skills. And the lyrics take all the attention in her case.

It’s a lovely song and it fits the season well (so far) but I miss planetarium T_T
even tho i dont really like otsuka ai…but planetarium suits the 1st season just rite….as for this song in season 2? much much better 😀
The lyrics were quite heartbreaking, though not as complex and poetic as planetarium. It says a lot about the direction the series is going.
I’m not sure of its effectiveness as an insert song since Utada to me does not work when overused, not like planetarium did, but my opinion might change.

As an insert song for Hana Yori Dango, it suits perfectly and my tears dropped when watching the scene while the song was playing.
