「私とあなたと生徒会」 (Watashi to Anata to Seitokai)
“Me, You, and the Student Council”
I may not have been overly excited about Dogakobo’s adaptation of a “loose lesbian” comedy, but this second episode was amusing enough to make me want to watch a lot more. There’s a certain appeal to anime that manga simply doesn’t have and this episode was a perfect example of it. I enjoyed the humor a heck of a lot even when I had already read about everything that was covered. One part animation and another part seiyuu are attributed to the difference between the two, as seen in Chitose’s wild imagination and uncontrollable nosebleeds. The “yuri” aspect definitely kicked up a fair bit with her arrival, and served as great material with Toyosaki Aki behind the perversions. I didn’t get tired of seeing vice president Ayano (Fujita Saki, of Hatsune Miku fame) slap Chitose either, simply because the comedic timing of each slap was spot on.
Chitose is definitely one of my favorite characters thanks to the humor she brings when her glasses come off and her imagination run wild, turning her into a human blood fountain. She’s also fully aware that Ayano likes Kyouko, despite how much the vice president denies it, leading to some pretty cheeky comments to spur Ayano on. They’re almost like a manzai routine, except Chitose ends up getting smacked for making the smart-ass remarks. It’s silly but oh-so-fun to watch play out, especially with the added yuri flair to the humor. It’ll be a lot of fun watching these two get dragged in the unofficial “Fun Club”, considering that Kyouko has a pretty good chance of beating Ayano on their next test. A natural genius who won’t hesitate to have a strip competition? I think this match has already been decided.
In terms of the light lesbian humor, Kyouko x Ayano are pretty money. In comparison, heated childhood rivals Furutani Himawari (Mimori Suzuko) and Oomura Sakurako (Katou Emiri) do have a bit of an edge though. When they’re not busy trying to kill one another to become the next student council vice president, they’re getting into a lot of yuri-esque situations and blushing like there’s no tomorrow. Sure, it doesn’t lead to anything remotely close to Chitose’s fantasies, but there is “real-life” boob-slapping and whatnot to set them apart. An accidental kiss seems a little more likely between those two than the “competition” too. In any case, they weren’t kidding about Akari having no presence in this series, even though she’s the “main” heroine. Even Yui gets a bit of attention next time when everyone decides to visit her place. She’s only in middle school and already lives alone. Imagine the yuri possibilities. It’s just too bad Yui’s too sensible for that stuff (…and seems to like boys. Psssh).

“She’s also fully aware that Ayano likes Kyouko, despite how much the latter denies it” did u mean “despite how much the former denies it”?
anyway last ep i wasnt really sold.. but this episode was a lot more interesting.. probably because the side chars are so good >:D
I guess the more characters we see the more complicated their relationship gets and the more we like how things go(aka humor XD).
Former would be Chitose, latter would be Ayano (not Kyouko). I can make it less ambiguous though.
I see that this episode is a lot more better than the last episode. The spark on relationship makes this anime AWESOME and humors too.
I also can’t believe that Kyoko is rank one despite her happy go lucky character.
oh when the anime opens it always reminds me of Meruru(Ore no imouto) openning
reminds me of “the pink panther”
in softenni 😀
haha you-know-who ( = w = )
He he… co-signed
was a perfect example (of) it.* lol
And this series is turning out pretty good!
Normally I’d say, “Damn you guys like picking apart my posts with a fine-tooth comb”, but this tells me that you guys are reading so I don’t mind the least bit.
Can someone explain the “fine Irvine” joke to me?
Ayano did not say Fine Irvine, but rather “Buckingham”
taken from Dynasty Forums (http://dynasty-scans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=60):
“bakkin is a fine/penalty; the Japanese pronunciation of “Buckingham” happens to start off with the same sound. So it’s basically a meaningless pun.”
Ok, thanks. The sub that I watched translated it as “fine Irvine” (no clue why).
Ayano really is adorable. She might be my favorite character. Screen 18 was friggen priceless! XD Chitose is a nice adition to her.
The rivals are pretty fun too, although the sexual tension is so thick I kinda just want them to do it already lol.
More evidence that all anime characters with big boobs have some sort of gravity dampener embedded in them…anywho, as long is the yuri undertones stay just that, I’m sure this series will remain enjoyable. Any idea on episode count yet?
“make ‘me’ want to watch a lot more.” I feel that kyouko should be the main character ^^.
Definitely was a lot more enjoyable than the first ep., but still hovering close to the drop line for me against the rest of the line-up this season.
Out of all the comedic boob slapping/grabbing/groping I’ve seen over the years in anime, the buildup and execution of that basketball scene was pure gold…I was cracking up so much.
Was also wondering what the “fine Irvine” joke was all about.
Himawari and Sakurako. Passionate, fiery, mutually-Tsundere, highschool yuri.
I’m sold.
“She’s only in high school and already lives alone. Imagine the yuri possibilities.”
She’s in middle school (2nd year) lol
Sigh… Okay, everyone stop reading!
(Fixed. Thanks.)
you can see the “heated childhood friends” in episode 1 when there was a flashback of Akari’s elementary school days… the 2 friends were partnered during p.e.
Akarin! Tuturu~.. Oh wait wrong show
After I heard Sakurako’s voice, the first thing come to my mind is Kyuubey’s face.
Doesn’t the student council president look like Arnett McMillan from Freezing?
