Sometimes life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows and sometimes it is. For Tsumugi though, life was pretty rough this week.

「夏休みとねことアジ」 (Natsuyasumi to Neko to Aji)
“Summer Vacation and Cat and Aji”

That wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but the episode as a whole really set in stone just how well behaved Tsumugi is. If anything, I hope that when I have a daughter (I will have a daughter), she’ll be at least half as well behaved as an imaginary anime character.

I see what you’re doing Amaama and you won’t catch me off guard! *sniffle*

「明日もおいしいイカと里芋の煮物」 (Ashitamo Oishi Ika to Taro no Nimono)

I knew it was coming. After a few weeks without seeing Tsumugi’s mom, this week’s moment hit extra hard even though I knew it was coming.

「五平餅とだいぼうけん」 (Gohei Mochi to Daibouken)
“Gohei Mochi and A Big Adventure”

And here I thought the show would start to get a little stale following relatively the same formula week after week.

「おともだちとギョーザパーティー」 (Otomodachi to Gyooza Paatii)
“Friends and Gyoza Party”

This week’s episode was a big one-two punch to the heart. Do the writers have no sympathy for us?!

「お休みの日ととくべつドーナッツ」 (Oyasumi no Hi to Tokubetsu Doonattsu)
“Day Off and Special Donuts”

Even without touching on sappy things, this week’s episode of Amaama still tugged at my heart a lot harder than I expected it to.

「きらいな野菜とコロコログラタン」 (Kiraina Yasai to Korokoro Guratan)
“Hated Vegetables and Bits in Gratin”

Even an adorable show like Amaama can’t escape the clutches of kids and their eternal disgust with vegetables.

「つむぎとおまたせのハンバーガ」 (Tsumugi to Omatase no Hannbaaga)
“Tsumugi and The Long Awaited Hamburger Steak”

I may be getting older, but I’ll never forget just how tough it was to be a kid.
