Overall Summary and Thoughts…
- This episode was pretty interesting, it had some elements of comedy, but also other more serious elements too. The beginning skit was pretty funny, what with the encounter with one of women’s worst enemies, the bathroom scale, and Tenma being heavy from the New Years festivities. The skiing part was a part of the manga, and was pretty interesting to see animated. It’s amusing to see Karasuma being the oddball that he is, what with being covered with snow which is shaped like a snowman. Also was interesting seeing Tenma actually being pretty excellent at something, what with her jumps and such. The characters that they created while in midair was also pretty interesting, and was just as funny as the manga to see the ‘You are Fat’ sequence animated. The Ice skating part I do not remember from the manga, and is likely a anime only addition, but I felt that it was created pretty well in the spirit of the manga, and fit in pretty well. The sequence with Yakumo and Harima I also believe was a new addition, though I think I remember the reference to the rabbit. It has been a while since I last touched the manga, so it is a little fuzzy. I must admit I found the ice skating part to be the funniest part of the episode, what with the Lala+Imadori interaction. It is always fun to see the hijinx that those come into. Karen being good at skating wasn’t a surprise, since she is proficient in almost any sport that she does. Lala in the speed skating costume I felt was a really nice touch. Overall, I liked the episode, perhaps it wasn’t as interesting or as funny as some of the previous ones, but it was still enjoyable.

- They then tie the ship to the whale and use it to move.
Overall Summary and Thoughts…
- This episode was pretty interesting, the only part that was in the manga was the middle section, with Hanai in the foreign land with the classmate clones. Not too much humor in this episode, compared to some of the previous, but still entertaining. I felt that the way that the ship part fit in pretty well, and liked their explanation for what happened to Hanai a bit better than the manga, which it was Akira telling a story of what could have happened to him. Overall not too much to say about this episode, the parts certainly aren’t exactly the quality of the manga elements, but still passable. Well, fillers are not usually as good as the original manga content in most series, so it is not surprising that this isn’t as strong as earlier on in the series. This leaves me hoping for another season, as I think it would be really interesting to see what they do with the Kyoto arc. I am only hoping that it won’t be another 2 years delay like it was between season 1 and season 2. I must admit though that it was pretty amusing with Hanai putting his glasses on the statue and it coming to life and beating a giant pig, all because he recognized the eyes of someone who needed glasses. Overall, a pretty decent episode, though nothing too special compared to other episodes in this season.
Judge
I don’t think they did a good job with the transition of the “I love you:you’re too fat” scene. The manga had more effect since the equipment didn’t move. (If they didn’t do that shift thing and instead had them there in the first place… I mean, the viewers already know it’s “I love you”, right?)
ep24 picture 5, is that the Sharpshooter? (i.e. Bret “The Hitman” Hart’s submission hold)
say, what’s with itoko with that leather?
leather is fun? 😀 its harima just imagining how screwed he’s going to become after reading some notes she posted.
Itoko went out. Locked Harima out of the apartment(again). But Harima copied the key and now he’s going to be dead. =)
