It’s not quite Yamada bobbing up and down and trying to seduce Kosuda like there’s no tomorrow, but we have Tamura Yukari doing laundry, watering the lawn, and just looking pretty. I don’t think I’ll ever quite understand what Japanese promo/music video directors are thinking, but they can’t be thinking that hard if this is what they come up with more often than not. On the plus side, Yukarin’s legs are pretty well accented in those anime-length skirts/dresses she’s wearing (i.e. super short ones), which isn’t an easy thing to do considering how she’s only 157cm tall (~5’2″). Yukarin’s never been much of a looker, particularly earlier on in her career, but I’m actually amazed by how much her appearance has changed over the years for the better. Shallow statement I know, but she looks even better on the the cover of this single with longer hair. Her most distinguished feature will probably forever be her ears and how they tend to stick out, but that’s Yukarin for you.

Appearances aside, she still brings one of the best combinations of moe/sexy voices to anime, so it’s a shame she isn’t in more roles nowadays. Her singing is always a bit too cutesy overload, so it’s okay in spurts but a bit much if you listen to it nonstop. Naturally, the same goes for “Oshiete A to Z”, unless you’re big on moe voices and can’t get enough of them. If there’s one thing disappointing about B Gata H Kei‘s OP/ED themes though it’s how there isn’t a song performed by Tamura Yukari and Horie Yui. The two of them are good friends in real life and used to be in the seiyuu group Yamato Nadeshiko together, so I thought it would’ve been the perfect chance for them to collaborate again. Color me disappointed, as I have to continue reliving the old days for now, even if it’s just through a fan-made Idolmaster video of “Mou Hitori no Watashi” where they’re represented by the characters they voiced in Xenoglossia, Minase Iori (Yukarin) and Hagiwara Yukiho (Hocchan).

I would have loved to see those two singing and dancing over their digital selves in a PV, or at the very least, hear a duet by them again. This song may be pretty old, but it was recently covered by Yuikaori on their kiss x sis ending single, Our Steady Boy. Compare below.
