“Bear Encounter ⇔ Lovelymas”
If there’s one thing that I really like about a show, it’s when it leaves no mystery behind. And seeing how the season is coming to a close soon, I was happily surprised when the mystery behind the man with a bag on his head and the bear giving a thumbs up was revealed. Because ever since I saw the two in the opening sequence, I’ve been dying to find out just what purpose the two served.
Honestly, I was floored when it was revealed that Mayoi was the one who was behind the bear mask. Besides the shock of seeing her without her trademark lab coat, I never thought a bear costume could be so tricked out! Something about watching the mask of her outfit come out in such a slick yet mechanical fashion just looked really, really awesome. But in terms of scary outfits, it’s hard to say who had the scariest one when you throw Sakaki’s paper bag mask into the mix. Honestly, he could easily fit into horror movie with a quick change of clothes!
On the other hand, I loved how the second half of the episode made a complete 180 and focused on the cute yet funny aspect that this show is known for. From cute Santa outfits that look good on anyone to Tsumiki overheating every other minute from Io’s charm there was enough cute for someone to make a castle out of. But layered in-between all the cute were the witty jokes that really push this show over the top. Plus, Kana and Saki finally made another appearance!
Overall, I think this episode is definitely one of the best I’ve seen thus far. There wasn’t a dull moment, I was consistently laughing every few minutes, and there was enough tsundere Tsumiki to satisfy even the most diehard fans. Plus, if you didn’t bust a gut watching the last few minutes of the first skit, you may need to reexamine your sense of humor! Now, if only the show’s writers would stop trolling with scenes like this!

love this show! I can’t believe I actually thought his show was bad after watching the first episode and then putting this on hold….afterwards I had nothing else to watch and I started again and watched almost non-stop from 2-10…and love this show!
Same here. After watching ep. 1 I thought it was a bit dull and the jokes weren’t that funny, still I kept on watching the next episodes (I’m glad I did) and from there on it started to grow on me. The comedy isnt anything you’d see in any anime airing these days and I think I’ve really begun to appreciate it. Oh, and I love the characters too!

The masking sequence reminds me of Isaac from Dead Space… Now that I think about it, it would be cool if Isaac has this suit in Dead Space 3.

Best episode so far IMHO. The when Mayoi scared Hime-“Bear” and started chasing her I laughed so hard. Other episodes are funny for sure but this one was side splitting hilarious. When they abduced their teacher that was really funny too.
The emo corner has met it’s match in the despair locker and it’s double version.
I wonder what happen to ep. 11?
