“Three-Legged Mountain-Climbing Is Life-And-Death, The Artillery Battle In The Iguazu Mountains I”

I hope I’m not the only one who feels a little guilty while watching this show. Anyways, Takaii here this week filling in for Stilts-chan since he’s off on an escapade full of shenanigans, pretty girls, and probably drinking.

The Calm Before The Storm

After watching Qwenthur and Havia wreck havoc on every mission they’ve been sent on this far, it was a little surprising to see the past two episodes dial things back and give them a break from taking on the strongest weapon mankind has created. Specifically, I think this is the first time since the introduction arc that we’ve seen the series work on building up some real conflict. Focusing on a struggle between competing factions and how the ripples are going to affect them, it’s been a blast getting to watch Frolaytia and her team try to figure out just what course of action they should take with situation constantly changing.

However, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy all the random moments and teasing that have been going on in-between the serious stuff. Because if we’re being honest, it takes a true man to truly realize the glory of some damn good fried chicken. Unlike the fake stuff that’s been ripped from the bone (which also have their own appeal in the right situation), I have to hand it to Qwenthur for truly understanding the important things in life.

On the other hand, we also have Frolaytia and to a lesser extent Milinda providing some stellar fanservice. While I couldn’t pick a favorite moment since they’re all gems in their own right, there’s just something appealing when a show doesn’t suppress the male libido and lets adolescents be adolescents. Sure, Havia might take things a little too far, but when your commanding officer has breasts like that and can contort her body like this, maybe Qwenthur is the one who’s the odd man out. I suppose he’s probably just a special case though since he has Princess Milinda and all.

The Serious Stuff and Looking Ahead

Getting back on track, it looks like the story is primed and ready to get back to the action next week. With another enemy object hiding somewhere, a giant international struggle whose effects will be felt worldwide, and a dirtbag named Halreed Copacabana (seriously, what kind of name is that) ready to screw with Frolaytia there’s more than enough substance to give us a jam-packed episode. While I personally want to find out just what kind of hidden object the Mass Driver Conglomerate is hiding, I wouldn’t mind seeing that Halreed guy get some sense knocked into him.

Anyways, I’ll catch you guys in this comments! Also, Stilts will be back next week!

  1. Gotta take off a sin here not just for Frolaytia’s pole dance itself, but also as a not-so-subtle actor allusion to Shizuka Ito’s other role as Akeno Himejima and reference to the ending credits of High School DxD season 1. XD

Also, so the Legitimate Kingdom’s homeland is (former) France? I heard a mention of Milinda being invited to an Object-to-Object mock battle with Halreed over in Normandy. Considering the oftentimes “aristocratic” atmosphere of continental Europe and that Gibraltar battle (which is geographically closer to France compared to, say, Alaska), it kinda makes sense, though at the same time, it doesn’t… (Damnit, is there even a detailed world map of the Heavy Object-verse?)

Glad they kept it and it didn’t disappoint. In the novels, the narration leading to it is pretty amusing.

The four simply sat chewing for a while, but there was no reason to sit in silent concentration the entire time just because they had not had proper food in a while. When people gathered, stupid conversations would begin. That is one of the rules of this world.

The one who began first was Heivia.

    Cue pole dancing.

This old couple just weirded me out. They weren’t moving at all all throughout the conversation. The camera even zoomed in to them several times and they’re just there, holding the tea and smiling.

  3. for my gusto, they overdone it with that much talking

and the name of this enemy Object.. How many times has it fallen? If Stilts would do here also his Drink game, he would be under the table right now..

Seriously, you done to much Talk here, and complete random “useless” talk on top of that

  4. Frolaytia…. Busty, S tendencies, absolute tease, good figure and curves to boot…

Millandia…. DFC, innocent princess girl next door, teases without making it blatant…

So hard to choose between the 2

Merciful Neptune, that hair is atrocious. How in the world of anime – where one’s possibilities are limited only by the imagination, budget constraints and corporate bigwigs who think of nothing but money, money, money – could one of supposed nobility, with presumably all the money he could ever want to fancy himself the most stellar haircut that one’s ever seen, settle for something that looks like it came straight out of the eighteenth century!?

Absurd. Ridiculous. Inconceivable. Kill it. KILL WITH IT FIRE!!

  6. I had to scratch my heead when seeing that Qwenthur was incredibly afraid at the beginning. I mean, that guy was in the battle of Gibraltar doing far more dangerous thing on, under and over water.

And I have to say, what kind of blank zones has no government? That’s what they said about Iguazu. Not even a warlord? We live in a world where there are even governments without countries. Still, glad to see we are exploring the Legitimate Kingom’s nobility side.

  7. Frolaytia showing a women who uses her sexual power who also has smarts power and political power but has clearly ran into a enemy with power who thinks he can crush her. Sorry jerk you might destroy her but you will never tame her and destroying her is iffy.
