「紅魔の里からのデストロイヤー」 (Kouma no Sato kara no Desutoroiyaa)
“Destroyer from the Crimson Demon Village”

Hubris thy name is Megumin. Or in other words, just another week in explosion land. With season finales quietly yet quickly approaching stories are now reaching their endgames and the latest Konosuba is no expection. Demons are being bested, gods are being summoned, and Megumin is proving her worth. Indeed, it’s all coming together.

Having done the nostalgic gauntlet of Aqua Church shenanigans, it only made sense to also relive the halcyon days of monster attacks on the road – so lo and behold getting just that this episode. While the plot was comparatively simple in the usual comedic way, it was nice seeing Yunyun part of the picture again, particularly by showing her prowess and getting rewarded for it, including by Megumin. Sure, there may not have been any outwardly positive things on the part of the one shot wonder, but it’s growing endearing how obvious Megumin is at times with not actually wanting Yunyun to fully leave her. Being an adventurer? Fine and dandy. Being an adventurer with little connection to Megumin? Now that’s problematic. As said before it really puts into perspective how Megumin acts in parent story and shows this girl isn’t as corrupted as you might be led to believe.

As for the actual events this week, does it really need to be said? I doubt I’m the only one who knows what this means after all. Oh yes, we’re now at the part where stupid goddess and panty thief enter the overall picture, and the part where the fun of explosion a day makes its hilarious presence felt. I always believed this season would end with Megumin finally meeting up with Kazuma and kicking off the grand adventure, so to see that starting to play out is pretty nice, especially given we’ll get to see how Megumin fares with the pre-Kazuma training regimen beforehand. Also Wiz, because obviously that meeting hasn’t been teased enough already.

There’s quite a bit to look forward to in this Konosuba’s close, and you can bet the bank it won’t prove boring.
