Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya – 02
(Dare?)
“Who?”
Everything stays light and funny as we get our first taste of combat.

「死の谷II」 (Shi no Tani II)
“The Valley of Death II”
The characters are fleshed out as they talk more about death and god, and run away from an old, gun-wielding friend.
(Furaingu Kettou!)
“Flying Match!”
It’s only the second episode, and they’re already giving me more of what I wanted – more basketball!
(Chinura Reta Mirai)
“The Blood-Soaked Future”
This is a magical girl show not about what it’s like to risk death, but what it’s like to kill.
(Tanjou! Mahou Shoujo!)
“Birth! A Magical Girl!”
Magic, plot, excellent comedy, and some of the best pacing I’ve seen in a while. Everything flows naturally as we’re eased into the action. As a storyteller, I am impressed. It was like Prisma Illya was made for the screen.
(Fushigi no Kuni no)
“…In Wonderland”
Megaton levels of cute. Toxic levels of cute. This was one big stream of adorable from beginning to end, spliced with a fuwa fuwa atmosphere that made it all go down super smooth. And it’s funny too!
(Uzume Uzu Uzu Shinobiyoru Ayashii Kage?)
“Uzume Uzu Uzu – A Shadow Draws Near?”
I thought this was going to be carefree shoujo fun. Then I saw the sparkling headbutts and Tuxedo Monocle, and I realized that no, it’s fantastic carefree shoujo fun!
I」 (Shi no Tani I)
“The Valley of Death I”
More mythology than fantasy. This episode introduces the world, but it doesn’t really begin to explain itself.
(Taiyou no kokuten)
“Dark Spot of the Sun”
Style. Miles and miles of style. And pain.
(Shougakusei (i no sen to) Wa~rudo!)
“Elementary School Students – Wo~rld!”
Cute, cute, way too cute! Also, Subaru is the ultimate gentleman. I want to grow up to be just like him.
