While not a bad episode, this was clearly a “middle” episode. There’s a lot going on, with a ton of introductions and lots of events happening, but very little in the way of resolutions. Still, there were definitely some enjoyable parts, and they laid the foundation of far more to come.

It’s interesting how, if you change the circumstances of a conflict just slightly, the side that looks like the bad guys can change completely. Where before it was definitely Dizelmine, now Villagulio is beginning to look like the king who will drive their planets to war.

This episode featured some of the finest yuri trolling I’ve ever seen, but it wasn’t that which had me staring wide-eyed at the screen when the episode came to a close. I feel like I just got hit by the plot bat…and I think I liked it.

Rinne no Lagrange constantly exceeds my expectations. No matter how much I enjoyed the previous episode and come in expecting the next one to be great, every episode exceeds what I thought it could be in a way I never imagined. I heard some major hype about this episode, and went in expecting the world. I got it, and more.
