「回復術士は、魔王と出会う!」 (Kaifuku Jutsushi wa, Maou to Deau!)
“The Healer Meets the Demon Lord!”

Ahh, new week, new girl, same old Kaiyari. Well, mostly the same; hard denying the lack of bouncing breasts and full on displays of debauchery we’ve grown accustomed to this time around. I think next episode will correct that part, however; when you’re somehow tag teaming with only one healing rod, the inevitable foursome is going to be a thing for the science books.

Probably the biggest surprise for me this week isn’t that Keyaru conveniently stumbled across the Demon Lord or scooped her right up into his budding harem, but that he didn’t screw her first and reveal his goals after. Don’t deny, I know some of you also thought the happy go lucky meal time would be met with aphrodisiacs and attempted displays of strength quickly yielding to clapping cheeks and full-body tongue workouts. Well, not that it didn’t in the end mind you (oh the start of next episode is going to be a riot), but damn you’d think we’d get one girl who would be willing at some point to resist the healing charm. After all, there has to be a limit to how many Keyaru can ravage simultaneously. Maybe.

On a more serious note, however, we pretty much got a hint of what’s to come courtesy of Demon Lord origins. While the jury is still out on whether we get all the revenge this season, the Demon Lord also being out for revenge and Keyaru pursuing that objective largely guarantees at least one of the remaining heroes should be making an appearance. Just have to remember the repeated mention of the kingdom’s hate for nonhumans and the sly comment about heroes serving as the ultimate human weapon; hard finding much else guaranteeing Keyaru will come across Bullet or Blade doing some magical ethnic cleansing while seeking out the current Demon Lord. For all the shock and awe on display Kaiyari is quite conventional at its core, and with the season finale now approaching I doubt it’s going to be breaking with the tried and true anytime soon.

Well, unless it involves T&A of course, because if there’s one thing you never do it’s attempt to make art predictable.

  1. “Is that what this is about? All that murderin’… and fuckin’… and no sons?”

For some odd reason, all I could hear was Matt Damon’s quote at the back of my head.
