「差し出そう」 (Sashidasou)
“I will Offer Them”
While I may have harbored some resentment toward Midorima and Takao when we first met them way back when, the two have quickly become my second favorite pair in the entire show.
Shutoku, Shutoku, Shutoku!
Even with last week’s episode foreshadowing all the awesome that happened this week, I can’t believe how amped up I got for this episode. With Midorima finally showing just how much he’s grown by believing in his team and whole heartily putting his faith into them, it surprised me a bit to see the once self-centered green haired jerk turn into someone who could inspire his whole team to rally together in a time of need. Then again, seeing Midorima preemptively enter his shooting position while waiting for Takao to pass him the ball was pretty impressive (and also gave off a rather Haikuu kind of vibe!).
Bow Down to the Emperor
But even with Shutoku managing to claw their way back from the brinks of defeat, it’s scary to think about how quickly Akashi managed to (or I suppose how far in advanced Akashi planned?) bring things back into line. Because if self-scoring on himself wasn’t bad enough, who the heck jokes about gouging their eyes out when it’s their trump card? I guess joking about it would have been okay had it been anyone else but it’s kind of creepy almost knowing that Akashi might have done it if things somehow didn’t end up going his way. That and if Haizaki was supposed to be the definition of a character that made you angry and/or wanted to slap across the face, Akashi is doing a fantastic job at being downright scary. I was almost going to say terrifying but I’ll save that for the moment he’s able to overcome plot armor and defeats Seirin. That is, if Seirin can even make it past Kise and Kaijo.
Looking Ahead
I tend to tell my friends that Kurobasu is the show that fills the void that Haikyuu left (I was never a big on Prince of Tennis or Yowamushi Pedal) after it came to such an abrupt end — and I stand by it! This show may have its ups and downs but you have to give it credit for being able to keep us on the edge of our seats even when our “main” team is on the sidelines. And luckily for us, it looks like Seirin is amped up and ready to play! It’s been a while since we’ve seen our guys in action but I’m sure they’re hankering to play as badly as we want them to.
See you next week!

It was kinda obvious that the match would end like this.. but I’m still sad. Poor Midorima 🙁

“When will you learn, people with red hair are OP as f-ck?”ლ(ಠ_ಠ ლ)
I think he’s the 2nd weakest member of GoM, with Kise being the weakest. Still great game. Akashi is just too OP.
“Kise being the weakest”? Wait till you see next episode.
@Red HeartGold ZX
But didn’t Kise himself say back in Season 1 that he was the weakest? I remembered it during the practice match Seirin had with his team.
Yeah, he WAS the weakest. But not any longer.
No, I think Midorima is the weakest, not Kise. Now that I think about Shutoku lost every single game against a team with a member of the Generation of Miracles, or tied.
The 3 uncrowned kings didn’t reveal their true abilities yet and they still lost.
Akashi:I will gouge out both of my eyeballs, and I will offer them to you.
We’ve finally figured out how to stop Akasihi. By plucking out his Emperor Eye. We need those scissors. ✄

Not yet. Don’t give up! Falling down is not an embarassment! True embarassment is not standing up after such a fall!
Midorima showing us the true meaning of strength.

Woah! I thought this was a sports anime not horror.
Akashi is in the wrong section. This is comedy and sports, not horror and psycho.
He can change atmospheres on a whim.
Akashi reminds me of Aizen, “Everything is going according to the plan.”
Akashi needs to relax with his Valentine’s gifts.
I was hoping to see Midorima in the zone in this episode. Why didn’t it happen?
I thought we were gonna see it this episode. Maybe not everyone from the Generations of Miracles can do it.
I was rooting for Midorima to go in the zone but sad to say, he didn’t unleash it.
Being in the zone is being able to reach their maximum potential. That is Midorima scoring a 3 pointer from half way across the Earth.
Yuno Gasai has found her soulmate. Akashi the Yandere King.

About the eye-gouging, I’m glad Takao said what we all were thinking. ”Come on this is only an extracurricular activity…”
Imagine someone saying that in real life. People would think they’re mentally unstable and need help.
I mean, I expected Akashi to be good but not THAT good.
That was about 50% of Rakuzan’s power. Their true power is shown on the last match in manga. And if you think Akashi’s a monster now wait till the Final.
I think he has a height complex and that is why he hates people looking down on him.
Even the screen shots can’t look down on him.
Akashi takes basketball way too seriously. Gouging your eyes over it is going a little too far..
https://randomc.net/image/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke%203%20-%2006%20-%20Large%2020.jpg
I don’t think it’s basketball in particular but winning. Akashi is the biggest sore loser in KnB.
Don’t expect sportsmanship from him.
Akashi needs to take sports as seriously as Murasakibara.
Murasakibara is like the total opposite of Akashi. Both the height and the personality.
That Midorima/Takao move looked so cool. I’ll never get tired of watching them do it.
https://randomc.net/image/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke%203%20-%2006%20-%20Large%2010.jpg
Even Akashi was like, what the fck are you doing?
I like the character development they gave Midorima. It’s great to compare how much he has changed from how he was in the 1st Seirin match to the end of this Rakuzan match.
”Now rest, King of Veterans.”
RIP Shutoku. You fought well. Also I didn’t get what Akashi meant by that…
https://randomc.net/image/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke%203%20-%2006%20-%20Large%2032.jpg
Shutoku is known as the King of Veterans cause they’ve made it to the finals(?) almost every year in this tournament.
The flashbacks about Midorima and Takao just gives me a whole new way of seeing them. Much respect to Team Shutoku.
Holy shit Kagami and Kuroko both have to enter the Zone or else they won’t win against the Emperor.
Akashi’s tactical genius, Takao and Midorima dynamic, and the uncrowned kings. All great!
https://randomc.net/image/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke%203%20-%2006%20-%20Large%2026.jpg
You can’t fault Akashi for his leadership skills, they may be unconventional but they are really effective, such as shooting in his own team’s goal to silence the whole court.
Akashi is a good leader but he does it in such a cut-throat way.

If there was something that bugs me, it’s the over the top drama. Akashi is trying too hard.
All that’s missing is his evil laugh.
56 episodes in, still no Kuroko zone.
Kuroko zone? I’m against that idea!
You’ll understand the reason as the story goes….
Me, too. Out of all the skills, the zone is the one I dislike with a passion, because it makes things incredibly convenient and takes away the witty and tactical side of the games, which is what I enjoy the most from Kuroko no Basuke.
Oh look, he has eyes! 😀 First time they acknowledged his presence.
https://randomc.net/image/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke%203%20-%2006%20-%20Large%2025.jpg
I want to see more of his beautiful face <3
But I still need to wait….
Replace the gray hair with blue hair and he looks just like Kuroko.
And it happened for just like a second. I almost missed it.
Hyped for Seirin vs Kaijo next week!
https://randomc.net/image/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke%203%20-%2006%20-%20Large%20Preview%2003.jpg
Kise looks so cute in that “Huh?-That’s-not-what-I-meant” state.
Hoping for more OP super powers next week. Let’s see how the match between Kuroko and Kise turns out.
And as I predicted, Shutoku lost. Though at least he put up a decent fight.
I love this show so much. It makes watching basketball bearable. This show gets me more hyped than any other anime ever.
It just keeps getting better and better. Despite knowing what happens, seeing it animated gives me more excitement than the manga.
Phenomenal OST once again
That Akashi OST, I want it. His theme sounds so holy.
I’m loving the adaptation so far. The soundtrack is awesome!
Then again, seeing Midorima preemptively enter his shooting position while waiting for Takao to pass him the ball was pretty impressive (and also gave off a rather Haikuu kind of vibe!).
Definitely a Haikyuu’s vibe there…It shows a change in Midorima and that’s a good thing. Now, to the next week’s match!!!
Kaijou~!!! <3
I did not expect to enjoy a non-Seririn game this much but it was great.
Midorima! if you need a hug… my arms are free. *sob*

Finally, Akashi Seijuro, who was completely dry for 3 whole quarters, has started to sweat. Shutoku didn’t go down without a fight.
https://randomc.net/image/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke%203%20-%2006%20-%20Large%2013.jpg
Something good happened for the other team when his face is like that if you know what I mean.

Great game! I loved how they animated the basketball sequences in this ep. Kind of not as excited about Kaijou vs. Seirin (since isn’t Kise wounded?)
I was as surprised as everyone when Akashi shot the ball in their goal. And his team mates weren’t even bothered by it.
https://randomc.net/image/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke/Kuroko%20no%20Basuke%203%20-%2006%20-%20Large%2019.jpg
It’s pretty embarrassing having a short guy telling you off.
I couldn’t believe it when Akashi decided to shoot at his own basket, guess he was serious about the consequences if he lost.
Overall, I would say this match was well done, even better than the manga with all the beautiful imagery and a brilliant soundtrack. Episode 5 is still my top favourite.
Akashi may be an over the top, menacing character, but he’s certainly a welcomed contrast to the good-nature characters of this show, not to mention that he’s very well designed.
Akashi: Sleep, veteran king.
Me: Akashi, sing me a lullaby. XD
It’s kinda funny because Midorima’s strategy concerning threes with high trajectories is to demoralize the opposition, yet he felt that same treatment through the Emperor’s Eye.
It just proves how formidable Akashi is.
@liebel Zones, huh? Wonder what’ll be like in Extra Game [if it happens].

Yeah I knew it would come to this… Midorima look this way! XD
Interesting. For me it’s the opposite since I’ve been following the anime since 2012. I watched Haikyuu while waiting for Season 3.
Nothing could fill the void for me when season 2 came to an end and then in September the manga finished, so imagine the months of heartbreak. There are many series I love, but they were different in terms of entertainment value and fulfillment that Kuroko no Basuke had.
Thankfully there is the sequel manga, Extra Game. I’m still not 100% sure if it’s a real sequel or just an extra/bonus story.
So basically Takao was, if I cant beat him (Midorima) I’ll join him.

I’ve enjoyed this series since the first season, but Akashi is bringing it down for me. It’s like he’s stepped out of Naruto or Bleach. I’ve never had a problem with the show being over-the-top, but this is too much. The guy is Aizen with Uchiha eyes. Seriously, it’s absurd. Not to mention how much of a drama queen the guy is, too.
