First Impressions / Tsubasa Chronicle

Summary:
-There is a large bird flying between dimensions that Fei Wong Reed identifies as an extraordinary power that’s beginning to move. Dropping from this giant bird are Sakura’s feathers.
-Syaoran and company arrive above the clouds of a new world, and immediately start falling down. The situation seems bad, but just as they are nearing the ground, they become covered in a blue energy that lands them safely. Fye claims that it wasn’t his magic, and the group doesn’t figure it out until after they’ve been picked up by a couple in an ox-pulled wagon. The two explain that this is Tao Country and the power they see is called senriki. This senriki encompasses all of Tao, so anyone can use it, including Syaoran and company.
-Upon arriving in town, the group is approached by a pair of flying guards who know Sakura’s name because the Feather King Chaos can foresee the future.
-They go to Chaos’ castle, and find that the king possesses a fan made up of numerous feathers. In exchange for the feathers, Chaos wants them to tell him all about their travels.
-Mokona and then Fye play story-teller over dinner. Kurogane has his doubts about this, so to prove his intentions, Chaos returns five feathers.
-While Sakura is sleeping, Yuuko contacts the group. After they tell her about Chaos and the multiple feathers, the topic switches to White Day and how the guys started it by eating what Yuuko sent over on Valentine’s Day. Yuuko says that all things of this world have a start and an end – good deeds have good results and bad deeds have bad results. This is what people would call cause and effect or karma. She tells them to remember this for the day when they will face unbearable suffering.
-While Sakura sleeps, Chaos enters her room and touches her hair, saying that at last they finally meet and calling her his princess.
-The next day, Syaoran and company are told that there are more feathers belonging to a bird out at a sacred mountain. The reason Chaos hasn’t gone after this bird himself is because he claims to not use his powers for fighting. Syaoran, Fye, and Kurogane set out and find this bird with many of Sakura’s feathers on its wings. It knocks all three of them down onto the ground where the three are then surrounded by alien-looking creatures.
-Sakura continues to regain her memories, but this time it’s of when she was chased by a giant worm in the desert. The person who comes to save her turns out to be none other than Chaos.

Preview:

-This anime-original arc isn’t so bad, but the art at certain parts is horrible.
-I would guess that the feathers Chaos returned to Sakura are either fake or have been manipulated in some way to include Chaos into her memories. Or those could really be Sakura’s memories and they’re introducing a character who can also jump through dimensions that’s not featured in the manga. Either way, it’s pretty clear that Chaos isn’t a good guy and he’s got his sights on Sakura.
-Only four more episodes to go of this second series. I have my doubts about this being the final arc before the end of the season, and I think they’ll be able to fit in one more anime original world. Hopefully it’s something big with Fei Wong Reed.

  10. wow..orginal story? and it looks so good!! can’t wait for the subs ^0^ and Chaos will step between Sakura and Syaoran? well, i say its about time then! Yuuko mentioned about unbearable suffering? whoah, foreshadowing…!!

  11. Wow this is an interesting episode…I think sakura’s memories were manipulated…only the feathers can enter her body….and eat…and oxygen XD
    I think in Choas place it was originaly syaoran *looks back* ohhhh it’s a young sakura…that’s odd o___O;
    yeh some anime art work was crap….such as that Yuuko one…she looks fat =s
    I think the chaos in memory thing is like…playing w/ sakura before acid tokyo…making it more effective…i guess…

    And that they are going to finish this saga with the 2 of them fighting against each other!!

  16. I hate mangas(NON-EXPRESSIVE)because they don´t have seiyuus and they are not animated.
    But i love art works!!
    Have you already thought about a new manga, that when you open the first page it starts making sound + even seiyuu recorded ones( GREAT IDEA MAN!!! LET´S MAKE THAT PRODUCT AVAIABLE NOW!!!!) ” JU HATSU BUY!!! 😀 ” I LOVE THAT SHIT TOO 😆

    …that would have been best cliffchanger-ending for this season….

  26. Lol, weirdly drawn facial expressions (2nd screenshot). Isn’t it obvious enough?
    I think Chaos looks a bit too much like Syaoran, unless it’s supposed to be a part of the plot of course. Nonetheless, this filler looks to be pretty interesting.

  29. Just a speculation:
    Chaos got his hands on 1 feather, but somehow he was able to duplicate it and create the fake feathers (false memory for Sakura was the big hint). Maybe the scene did happen and his brother saved him)… Heck, this world might even be an illusion created by Chaos XD However, I think we will see more of that bird till the end of the season, maybe even the beginning of the next, until we go back to the manga. It also foreshadow that Xing Huo might get some extra face time. She hasn’t done much aside from sticking around Fei Wong Reed.

  31. I think its pretty obvious that those feathers are manipulated memories – I mean look at them, only ONE is the original pink and white – the others are colours we have never seen before on the feathers. I see orange, green, purple… definately fakes

    although I cant wait to see how this one ends!

    I hope Xiolang (cause thats his real chinese name) sees what this guy is doing and gets territorial oer sakura (n_n) LAY CLAIM TO YOUR WOMAN SYAORAN!
