The official site for the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, subtitled “The Sacred Star of Milos”, recently added a minute long trailer. The movie is intended to tie-in with Brotherhood (i.e. the manga’s story) but as a side story before the actual conclusion. It’s directed by Murata Kazuya (assistant director of CODE GEASS) and the script is by Shinpo Yuuichi (author of the novel Whiteout). L’arc~en~Ciel is performing the theme song, whereas BONES is back for the animation production and seems to going with a very subtle change in style.

* Warning: The official site is Flash-heavy and spasm-inducing with its loading pages.

… More after the break, including details on the story.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood – 64 (END)

「旅路の涯」 (Tabiji no Hate)
“The Horizon of a Journey”

I admittedly read the remaining portions of the final chapter of the manga after watching episode 63 last week, so I wasn’t in for too many surprises in this epilogue episode. Unfortunately, they didn’t add anything new — such as Ed and Al’s reaction to Hohenheim’s passing which I would’ve liked to see — but the rest of it played out really nicely.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood – 63

「扉の向こう側」 (Tobira no Mukou Gawa)
“The Other Side of The Gate”

With the fight against Father looking like it was pretty much settled last time, I wasn’t expecting Greed to get pulled back into the fray for his philosopher’s stone. More so than that, Greed tricking Ling into giving up on the fruitless struggle so that he can play hero was something I really didn’t foresee.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood – 62

「凄絶なる反撃」 (Seizetsu Naru Hangeki)
“The Violent Counterattack”

It was no holds barred with everyone unleashing everything they had to whittle away Father’s remaining souls and make him reach the breaking point, but they had to first survive a huge blast that took out a huge chunk of Central headquarters.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood – 59

「失われた光」 (Ushinawareta Hikari)
“Lost Light”

Well that’s news to me. I didn’t know you can force someone to perform alchemy against their will and let them suffer the consequences of doing so. Just when I thought things were looking up with the arrival of May, Darius, Jerso, and Zampano, both Wrath and Pride show up to spoil the parade.
