Now this is something I really wasn’t expecting, as Kurisu (new confirmed spelling) shows that she not only has Nehushtan, but also another relic known as “Ichii-Bal”. Isn’t that kind of cheating? Especially with the Gundam Heavyarms-like dual Gatling guns — complete with Macross-style missiles in her “Mega Death Party” attack.

As the animosity between Kurisu and Hibiki continues to grow, somehow Miku’s worries about constantly being blown off seem to trump it. However, it’s taken Symphogear in a very welcome direction with the conflicts being less about the Noise and more about the characters themselves, especially in conjunction with the whole conspiracy involving Ryouko and “Finne”.

Well it sure didn’t take long to find out who the informant is within the Mobile Disaster Prevention Unit, as it was easy to pick up on the voice in the early parts of this episode — well before they made it blatantly obvious.

It’s one thing to take away my Mizuki Nana/TWO-MIX anime after the premiere, but it’s another thing altogether to replace it with a crossover of Madoka Magica and BLOOD-C. Thanks to the seiyuu, I’m finding it hard to “unsee” the obvious similarities between Madoka in Hibiki and Saya in Tsubasa.

My Mizuki Nana/TWO-MIX anime has been taken over by Yuuki Aoi! As much as I like Aoi, it’s a bit of a downer that I may not get to hear Nana and Minami as Zwei Wing anymore.

It’s too early to call Elements Garden’s original “music” anime a surprise hit, but this impressive first showing already has me thinking it will be. With highly successful pop star Mizuki Nana pairing up with former TWO-MIX vocalist Takayama Minami as the “Zwei Wing” vocal unit, this premiere delivered both a high-tension live performance and fast-paced action.
